The view from the top floor balcony is worth any flaws that you may find. This is an older motel but its worth the stay if you're just in town for the weekend. Every room has a balcony on the water side. If you enjoy the sunrise I recommend you take a room on the top floor. We really enjoyed our stay. The room is spacious but the bathroom itself is small. It was perfect for the 3 of us girls on a rock hunting weekend. Definitely worth coming back to stay and will do so again.

Cozy Lakefront Hotel

This was our 3rd year staying at The Driftwood. I love the view of the lake and the simplicity of the room. The only thing I wish is that our room was not always next to the employees living quarters.

We enjoyed our stay. The fire pit was great. The pool was clean and not very busy. Free breakfast was nice as well. The people in the office were very accommodating. Highly recommend.

The staff here was friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were super easy and fast. My room was clean but dated. Supplies in the room were not abundant but adequate. My balcony was nice but the wood had moss on it, my sink or tub did not have stoppers in the drains which made me cautious not to drop things down the drain. My biggest complaint was the breakfast offerings. There were not adequate protein offerings and the individual servings such as peanut butter and syrup were not labeled, which was concerning. The waffle maker did not hear high enough leaving a messy goopy mess and no waffle. Also, 7:30 start for breakfast seems late for early risers. But overall, my stay was adequate and I’d stay here again.

CONs: The room was cleaned, but it really needed a deep clean. The carpet was filthy; the directional vents on the air conditioner were grossly dirty, was coated black something (mold?). I had window cleaner and paper towel in my car, so I at least wiped as much as I could. Towels were very thin. We had 3 people and only 2 towel sets on arrival. Pool are OK, clean enough, just don't look up. PROs: staff very nice, friendly. Continental Breakfast was ok, and the best was it stayed available until 10:30. Best was very close, walkable to beach. Besides the Lighthouse and Beach, there is Not much to do in Rogers City

I would stay here again.

Clean and spacious room. Everything we needed was there. The pool and hot tub were great including the changing rooms and showers with extra towels so you don’t have to bring them from your room. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The kids and I had a wonderful weekend - I loved being right in the water and having the pool although I wish it was open a little later than 8. The breakfast was perfect for us. They also enjoys the playground.

The Lake Huron view was great! An accessible beach is right behind the motel. Also the Huron Sunrise Trail runs right behind the motel and is easily accessed. Restaurants are a sort walk away.

Decent but dated

From what I hear this place is good for the area however the rooms was extremely dated and the bed was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Staff was friendly but I couldn’t get over the very old uncomfortable bed and dated furniture.
