The Space:

Set directly on Bearskin Neck, this classic Rockport cottage puts one of Cape Ann’s most recognizable neighborhoods right outside the door. Walk to the harbor, galleries, restaurants, shops, Motif No. 1, and the Shalin Liu Performance Center, then return home to a bright, updated interior and a private rooftop deck overlooking the ocean.



Built in 1930, the home maintains the character of a traditional shingled Rockport cottage while incorporating a renovated kitchen, updated bathrooms, ductless air conditioning, laundry, and comfortable gathering spaces. Exposed ceiling beams, built-in cabinetry, coastal artwork, and windows overlooking the surrounding rooftops give the interior a distinctly local feel.



The home has three bedrooms on the second floor, plus a separate studio-style bonus sleeping space on the main level. The upstairs sleeping arrangements include a queen bedroom, a bedroom with two twin beds, and a twin-over-full bunk room. The studio-style bonus space includes an additional double sleeping area, second kitchenette, bar seating, and its own exterior entrance, providing added flexibility for families and groups.



The rooftop deck is the highlight. Climb the spiral staircase and settle in above Bearskin Neck with views stretching across the ocean, harbor, and historic rooftops. Start the morning with coffee outside, return for a break between trips into town, or enjoy dinner as the light changes over Rockport.

Guest Access:

Guests will have private access to the full home, all bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen, living and dining spaces, laundry, and rooftop deck.



The primary guest entrance is located on Middle Road. Check-in is designed to be simple and contactless. Your unique access code, detailed arrival information, and parking instructions will be sent before check-in.



One dedicated off-street parking space is provided around the corner on North Road and is clearly labeled for the property. Two small vehicles may fit tandem within the space, provided both remain completely inside the designated area. Neighboring spaces belong to other residents and should not be used.



The Neighborhood:

The home is located directly on Bearskin Neck, one of the most iconic and walkable areas in Rockport. This historic waterfront neighborhood is known for its galleries, independent shops, restaurants, colorful buildings, working harbor, and classic coastal scenery.



Motif No. 1 and Rockport Harbor are just moments from the home. Front Beach, downtown Rockport, Dock Square, and the Shalin Liu Performance Center are also within walking distance.



Spend the day browsing galleries, watching boats move through the harbor, grabbing seafood along the waterfront, visiting local shops, or walking out to the end of Bearskin Neck for an open view of the Atlantic.

Getting Around:

Once you arrive, a car is not necessary for exploring Bearskin Neck and downtown Rockport. Motif No. 1, Rockport Harbor, shops, restaurants, galleries, Front Beach, Dock Square, and the Shalin Liu Performance Center are all accessible on foot.



A vehicle is helpful for visiting other parts of Cape Ann, including Old Garden Beach, Halibut Point State Park, Good Harbor Beach, downtown Gloucester, Rocky Neck, Stage Fort Park, and the Back Shore.



The Rockport MBTA Commuter Rail station provides service to Gloucester, Salem, and Boston’s North Station. Rideshare availability can vary seasonally, so advance planning is recommended.

Other Things to Note:

This is a historic 1930 Rockport cottage with a compact, character-filled layout. Guests will experience sloped ceilings, close-set rooms, and other features typical of an older coastal home.



All three bedrooms and both full bathrooms are located on the second floor and require climbing one flight of stairs. The rooftop deck is reached by an additional narrow spiral staircase and may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility or young children without close supervision.



The home is located in the active Bearskin Neck neighborhood. Guests may experience seasonal pedestrian activity and normal downtown noise during the day.



One dedicated parking space is provided around the corner on North Road. Two small vehicles may fit tandem, but all vehicles must remain completely within the labeled space. Detailed parking instructions will be provided before arrival.



The designated trash bins are also located around the corner on North Road. Please place all trash securely inside the bins and make sure the lids are fully closed.



The home is surrounded by neighboring residences. Please remain mindful of noise and observe quiet hours from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM, including on the rooftop deck.



Ring doorbell cameras are located outside at both entrances. The cameras are active and record video and audio when motion is detected. They do not view any interior areas of the home.



No pets, smoking, or events are permitted.



Traveling with little ones? A pack-and-play and high chair may be available upon request. Please let us know before arrival so we can confirm availability and have the requested items ready for your stay.
