The resort is small and very clean. They said it was busy but it was not crowded, no issues with dinner reservations or spa bookings. No problem getting beach loungers, umbrellas or pool chairs or cabanas. The staff was kind and some spoke english. The room was comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. The bed was comfortable. Our biggest issue was with food. There is one buffet, with short hours. There are two restaurants to make reservations. Neither was stellar and the food was hit or miss as to whether it came out hot, warm or cold. The menus are fairly similar, with mostly the same offerings. The desserts were horrible. The snacks available during the day consisted of popcorn, chili beans, really bad pizza, fishsticks, dry beef empanadas and chicken tacos which were like taquitos. We stayed pretty hungry and there is one expensive grocery store, at the end of the beach. I can't speak for the diving. They only had one guy at the beach and this is their high season. We never saw kayaks available. The vendors were present but not annyoying. The beach is gorgeous but the dive boats are parked out front, at all times. I never saw one go out, but they must have. I chose this resort for the good food reviews, but i did not find them to be adequate. If you can survive on cerviche, though, you might be ok. Check in and check out were excellent, as was the shuttle to and from the airport.

Staff are friendly & hard working but this place is a 2.5 The entire property is in dire need of a refresh. Could be so much better! Food…meh Drinks, very good! We ate 3 dinners out as well as a few breakfasts. Crappy cheesecloth thin towels in rooms & for the beach you’re in competition with cruise ship day trippers - good luck. Beach was very narrow & you're constantly bothered by folks selling things. Unfortunately it rained quite a bit when we stayed & if you were not already in your room you got soaked trying to get there. Can’t control Mother Nature but geeezzz NYE celebration made it impossible to get back to our room without going off property & mukking thru while getting soaked Saw insects coming in below our door, saw rats @ night, and there were bats nesting on the 2nd fl rafters. Not the kind of wildlife I wanted to see! I will be contacting property and/or Expedia for some sort of compensation.

Entertainment was poor all 3 nights and four days. Food at main restaurant was great, but came out very slowly. No amenities, music was slow and Low. It was clean and the beach was great. The massages beyond the grounds were cheap. You can negotiate. The ocean was fun. They cooked up a fish I caught. That was nice. The rooms were clean.

This was my first experience in Roatan and I’m afraid it has spoiled me! The property is well maintained and beautiful. There are several resorts, one after another, and this one is just as pretty as some of the more expensive ones on the end of the island. Also, **You must have cash on hand for tipping just about everyone** I did not know this and it became a problem when I ran out of cash on day 2… Anyway, the buffet options are wonderful. There is a theme for dinner each night so it’s not the same foods over and over. Not having to worry about my meals was a huge relief. Apparently the buffet is $30 if purchased separately per meal. The rooms were cleaned daily. The resort website recommended tipping the cleaning staff $3-4 daily, but I only stumbled upon that by accident. Plan accordingly. The beach area is beautiful and well set up. You will be able to exchange your towel daily and have an umbrella set up for you, but you should tip this gentleman as well since he maintains his area. I think there are 2 of them that split this duty. Mayan has a lot of beach space in front of it, unlike Infinity and Kimpton and a few others in that direction which are basically falling into the ocean—meaning the tide comes right up to the resort, so there isn’t a lot of space for chairs AND people traffic. Staff is really nice and very attentive. I felt safe. There are shops within walking distance. You can snorkel on the reef just by walking down the beach a ways. Top notch!

The location of Mayan Princess is on the best part of West Bay Beach. The beach was amazing, saw lots of starfish right from the beach. Snorkeling off the beach was great. The resort itself was very nice but the rooms need updating. Buffet food was decent. The staff was all very friendly and helpful if you needed anything. Would definitely go back to Mayan Princess.

Very nice stay. The staff was excellent and very friendly. Helped out a lot when I had questions. The quality of the food and drinks were great. The resort has a nice set up with the free airport shuttles. The resort had nice pools and is located directly on the beach. The diving was incredible and it was nice to walk right out of the hotel room and just a short walk to boat which took me to scuba dive sites. Enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

The room was amazing and the staff was spectacular. Our water heater went out on the last day. The staff came, discovered the problem and replaced the water heater all within an hour. When we finished our 10 gallon jug of water they replaced it immediately. Drinks were perfect and they remembered our preferences at every bar. It could not have been better! See you next year!!

The beach very clear, swimmable, and very little Sargassum for this time of year. The Deluxe One Bedroom Studio was very small. The A La Carte restaurant was closed over the weekend for some events had no other choice but the buffet. The buffet food was decent, but the can add more variety like fruits during dinner buffet.

The room was very clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I have mobility issues and found the resort easy to get around and everything was nice and close.
