Our recent visit to Veranda Resort Hotel was a last minute decision based on an unplanned trip to Roatan. However, we were lucky to find very affordable rates through Travelocity, which proved to be a steal. What we found was an amazing 5 star accomodations that began with our check-in, assisted by a young lady named Sam, followed up by dinner, and a personable staff, headed by the Manager Hector, who introduced us to several local drink options, and his staff. my stay at las verandas was an absolute dream. safety was my main concern as a solo traveler and i must say i felt very safe at the property. They had guards patrolling the area. Shoutout to Sam, the receptionist, she was great!!! very friendly and knowledgeable of the island and activities. The room was clean and well kept.

The grounds were beautiful. There was a bit of a big problem as we had huge cockroaches and lots of bugs got into our clothes. It was hard to find a place to keep toothbrushes so that bugs wouldn't get in. It was quiet l, but remote. A car is recommended. Staff was nice, but didn't seem very experienced. We tried eating several times in the restaurant or bar, but they literally never got the order right. It took so long to get the food, it was hard to send it back and face more wait times. But I'm a pescatarian and they kept bringing me food with meat, though I'd ordered a vegetarian meal. One day my son ordered a burger and got some steak and lobsterv dish that wasn't even on the menu. It cost an extra $50, but we just let him eat it versus waiting another hour. We eventually just rented a car and ate outside of the resort.

Excelente servicio de todo el personal, instalaciones impecables y de muy buen gusto, con la observación que el área de la ducha en la habitación tiene piso de azulejo liso, no es antiderrapante, lo cual puede ser peligroso para quien la usa. La comida excelente. Lo único que falló fue la coordinación de mi transporte de salida, pero al final lo solucionaron. Un detalle al llegar a la habitación es que había una botella de vino en su cubeta con hielo y copas, pero no especifican si es de cortesía o si tiene un costo adicional.

Mi estancia en Las Verandas no fue del todo grata. A pesar de tener una reserva pagada en Expedia, me pidieron tarjeta de crédito y quisieron sacar una fotocopia, lo cual rechacé por seguridad. Esto no debería hacerse. Como miembro VIP de Expedia, solicité un upgrade (beneficio indicado en la plataforma), pero la recepcionista dijo no saber nada y nunca me dio seguimiento. La habitación se veía limpia, pero el sofá tenía manchas y una quemadura. El servicio de limpieza no lavó una taza usada en la cafetera. En dos ocasiones encontré la puerta trasera de la habitación semiabierta tras haberla cerrado, lo cual generó desconfianza. Expedia indica que el desayuno está incluido, pero solo ofrecen agua filtrada o café; cualquier otra bebida se cobra, algo que deberían aclarar. El menú es limitado y en varias ocasiones no contaban con los platillos ofrecidos. La playa del hotel es rocosa, con muchas algas, y poco disfrutable en comparación con otras de la isla. Además, hay muchos mosquitos. Lo positivo: el personal de bar y restaurante fue amable, a diferencia del trato frío en recepción. El lugar está bien mantenido, pero los servicios no están a la altura de lo que anuncian. Le falta mucho para ser un hotel de calidad.

I LOVED this place. The staff responded to all of our needs. We had a medical issue and they went above and beyond to assist us amd constantly checked on us to see if we needed anything. Enrique the front desk manager was amazing. The place was so clean and staff so nice and helpful. We are already planning our next time to visit and sending the property link to all of our friends. What a great place!!!

A Last-Minute Lifesaver – Truly a Hidden Gem! After a terrible experience at our original resort, we booked this place last minute on the same day we checked in — and wow, what a blessing it turned out to be! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine kindness and professionalism. Despite the short notice, our room was ready, clean, and refreshingly cool — just what we needed after a long, stressful day. The beds were super comfy, the views were beautiful, and everything about the property felt peaceful, safe, and family-friendly. Once you’re settled in, trust me — you won’t want to leave! The resort has it all: beach access, a relaxing pool, delicious food, and even water activities right on-site. It’s tucked away in a lovely area, so having a rental car is helpful if you want to explore, but they do offer car services if needed. One of our favorite parts was the included breakfast. It wasn’t just your standard grab-and-go — we got to sit down and order from a full à la carte menu with plenty of tasty options. As a family of five, not having to rush out in the morning to find food was a huge plus! Every concern or request we had was addressed quickly by the staff, who were consistently attentive and helpful throughout our stay. After five days here, we left refreshed, happy, and already planning our next trip back. This resort truly turned our vacation around — highly recommend!
