The town is ideal for guests seeking relaxation in nature who also enjoy staying active. Just a few minutes away lies Lake Chiemsee with its famous islands, Herrenchiemsee and Fraueninsel, which are easily accessible by boat from Prien. The gently rolling hills around Rimsting are perfect for biking and hiking—with magnificent views of the lake and the nearby Alps. In the summer, the area boasts swimming beaches, sailing, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) opportunities, while in the winter, skiers and hikers can enjoy the surrounding mountains—such as the Kampenwand or the Hocheck ski area. The region also has a lot to offer culturally: In just a few minutes’ drive, you can reach Prien, Rosenheim, or Salzburg, with their museums, concerts, and traditional festivals.
