"Nice hotel. "
Hotel recently purchased by Carson Citty Nugget Casino. No mention of Nugget in street signage but found in advertising. NO guest info welcome packet of hotel. No map of premises, exits, exercise room (machines just added), no offers or promotions of Nugget Casino, no guest decaf coffee or tea offered. No idea if hotel had any gaming machines, No idea if they provided free shuttle to Nugget Casino. Doors use real metal keys with only room # on them, water has taste of chlorine, no full bedspread, had dirty couch furniture in room, didn't have any do not disturb or clean room door hanger signs avail. BUT bet was comfortable. Had foam topper. Staff was very friendly. Had my service dog with me and no problems about her.

"Good in a pinch"
I stayed here two nights mainly because they are close to the airport and I wanted to avoid a snow storm that may have prevented me getting to the airport on time for my flight. Overall, the hotel was nice, but the biggest downside is despite there being no smoking signs all over people still smoked and the employees did not say anything. Furthermore, even in my room I periodically would smell cigarette smoke and my room was suppose to be non-smoking. I don't know what the issue is, but my concern is that if there are signs posted saying no smoking and people are allowed to do so, what else are people told not to do, yet still doing without being confronted. Personally, I don't trust this hotel for that reason.

"Overall very nice but very disappointed in staff"
The overall experience was nice. Hotel, casino, and restaurants were excellent. However I was very disappointed in the staff. A gentlemen had fallen inside the casino from some kind of medical issue. I stopped to help. There were 3 to 4 security personnel already there. They were more worried about just getting the man up and away from the other guests. They didn't seem to care what was wrong with the gentlemen. I was there at least 5 mins and until I asked, they hadn't even called 911. It was very disappointing to see that they were more worried about not disturbing other people than getting his gentleman help.

"Nice location, good security"
I stayed here to attend two events at the Reno Events Center over the weekend. Location is perfect for that plus since it was around 20 degrees it was nice that I otherwise didn't need to leave the facility to go to a number of good restaurant or entertainment choices. Security made me feel that I didn't need to worry. It was great that they would not let anybody go to a room without a room key. Security was very visible, which is nice to see in a casino facility such as this.

"Great time; center of the action"
The room was nice, clean, and since it was homecoming weekend for UNR, it seemed like the center of attention. There was a parade downtown, and a "Zombie Crawl," which kept things interesting. Although neither event was the reason for our stay, we had a very nice time. We were in the area for the Ultra 4 National races, which were fabulous. We also took advantage of "Sterlings" the hotel's very nice restaurant. It was very good, and the service was excellent. Baggage handling and check-in desk person were helpful, and made the process uncomplicated.

"Cheap hotel but weird security and bad timing"
My friends and I stayed here because it was a really great deal for Reno and it had great reviews. Unfortunately we had some strange interactions that made the stay not so great. First the pros though. It was cheap (50 bucks). The room was clean and the beds comfy. They have some great amenities like Mel's Diner and a taco place that was awesome. Less great was that we arrived when there was a special function at the pool so it was sort of hard to have a good time with the large crowd at the only pool (and it isn't that big really). We were out there for about 2 hours and we're never able to get in the whirlpool either. The pool in the summer was really a selling point on the property for us so not using it was a bummer. The other thing that was weird was that they let my friend who was sharing my room check into the room without asking for ID or credit card but then another friend wasn't able to get an additional room key despite paying for the room because she wasn't the primary name on the account. Same hotel staff member. Parking was also a little tricky but manageable. Not the worst experience, but may consider other slightly more expensive options if we return to Reno and call ahead to see if there are special events going on.

"The COUPLES MASSAGES and SPAS made it work!"
We stay in casinos for lovely rooms close to airports. Though we didn't gamble, we enjoyed a nice meal at the Grand Buffet in the middle of the afternoon. Most other restaurants were closed at that time. But...the best part of our stay and my top rate review is the SPA. This is an amazing spa with space, luxury, staff, beauty and conveniences I'd not experienced previously. The staff made a big deal over my husband's 60th birthday and our 40th anniversary. The men's and women's spaces have their own jacuzzis, showers, drinks, snacks, steam and dry saunas and attendants. There was a LARGE shared jacuzzi that was very relaxing and sexy looking with dim lights, yet had a lift for the disabled. We topped it off with an hour watching hot air balloons float over the Smokey Mountains in the Relaxation Room super large screen. This room could hold 20 swooners but fortunately for us...we were alone. Oh...you can use Costco discounted Spafinder gift cards to discount your fees.
