Nice, but will soon need to be something more

Probably the best choice in Red Lodge, which maybe needs a new hotel. The Pollard is a classic old hotel that has retained many vintage touches while updating bathrooms, upgrading to flatscreen TVs, and converting racquetball courts to pickle ball. Still, it’s a little like staying in your odd great grandmother’s house. The restaurant in the hotel has the best breakfast in town and super friendly service. The town may be hesitant about the growth of arts and culture tourism, with Tippet Rise Arts Center nearby and the Red Lodge Cannery being redeveloped into a studio/ gallery/coffee shop complex by Roxy and Sofia Paine, but it would be smart to start thinking about its version of Hotel Saint George in Marfa, TX. The town is friendly, fun, and eclectic — but will need to figure out how to serve more diverse visitors, beyond bikers and Beartooth travelers.

An Elegant Step Back in Time

The history of this hotel is fascinating enough, but the service, amenities and rooms were fantastic. Right downtown, walking distance to everything. The restaurant was great as well! Our queen room was on the smaller side - no closet, dresser - and you could fall into bed from the doorway. But! It was an amazing experience because of the history of the hotel. A lot to do around town plus you can take a 20 minute drive to go see the pig races which were entertaining to say the least. We will be back!
