Very welcoming lobby, staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was excellent, loved having coffee, tea and hot chocolate bar. The only thing I have an "issue" with is, the indoor pool was not heated!! That is the #1 reason I chose Tru for our stay. too uncomfortably cold for my grand kids!! There were other people that told us, as they were coming out of the pool area, "Don't bother, it is freezing!"

The person checking us in was disinterested in her job. The room was large but empty. There was plenty of room for a couch or a couple of comfortable chairs but it was just empty. There was a very small desk with a good desk chair. The shade was stuck in the mostly down position and couldn't be adjusted, The lighting was bad - really bad. No floor lamps. A different style wall light for each side of the bed, not bright enough to read. The bathroom vanity was too small - yet there was plenty of room for a larger one. The sink basin couldn't be filled with water because there is no stopper. The hotel and room was clean. Won't stay at this brand again.

Staff was courteous although it took 2 requests to get towels. When we first arrived the room was clean but a bug(moth) was flying around up high in our room. I was a bit disappointed with finding out that our room only gets cleaned every other day,no coffee pot in the room but always available 24hrs in the lobby,there was no microwave in my unit but also available down in the lobby, or that there were no dressers or closet for our clothes. Also, the breakfast buffet was minimal but everything was fresh & staff constantly replenishing food as it disappears. However, we arrived in NC earlier than expected so I called the hotel to see about checking in early & they graciously welcomed & allowed us to check-in 3hrs early! Upon arrival we were greeted by front desk staff & every staff member here was extremely nice & pleasant! They all speak & are so helpful. For the price I paid per night I would've preferred the amenities you get in traditional Hilton hotels,especially a microwave since traveling with small kids,a little more variety as for meat choices at breakfast would've been nice too. Customer Service was great except the one hiccup with the towel requests which staff was truly apologetic about. Also, i didn't have to keep calling front desk for things they allow you to text! That made things much easier!

PROS: Newer building in excellent condition. Front desk staff was excellent - welcoming, very friendly, and helpful. Set back from the main road, felt safe, and quiet location. Property backs to a train track, but since there isn't a crossing nearby it's very quiet. Close to restaurants and shopping. CONS: No carpet means every space is a noisy echo chamber. Could clearly hear conversations in room next door, every person in the hallway, and playing kids outside at night (on 3rd floor - needs better windows). The electric blinds were broken and stuck partially up. They put us in a handicap room with a shower curtain that doesn't reach the bottom letting water on the floor. Previous water has caused the bathroom door to swell making it almost impossible to close (could be really hard for someone with mobility issues). We really wanted to like this location and the staff was great, but it's way too loud to sleep.

The room was tiny and the bed was horrible. The pillows were awful. My back and neck hurt. This was a work trip and I could have used a better bed. The only reason I gave a 3 star rating because of the staff, they were welcoming.
