The hotel is run down but clean. The staff was cheerful, polite and helpful. The train track is a block away, running routes and sounding the whistle multiple times a night. They were doing maintenance in the lobby area…it was loud and their remodel/building crew were very loud and foul-mouthed. The f-word was abundantly and “creatively” woven into every sentence…usually 2-3 times. We won’t be back

Construction workers' trucks in parking lot brought much mud into the area and we're very loud early in the morning and late at night. Breakfast in the motel was cold, and tasteless. Our telephone in our room was broken and never fixed after we told the manager.

Overall, despite active renovations, hotel was clean and very decent. The mattress in our 1st room (302) was BEYOND HORIBLE. After 2 hours trying to sleep went to the desk. The clerk gave us a different room but the hvac was broken and extremely hot. She checked both rooms and agreed unusable. Then gave us a room with smaller bed and that room was good. She was extremely cordial and helpful and should be praised for her customer service. Very little sleep and frustrating experience when everything else (staff, breakfast, etc.) was good.

Very dated. Towel bar and toilet paper holder in bathroom lose. Chair in room filthy. Free breakfast was very limited. Lighting throughout the hotel is terrible. Put some money into the property please. Great location is the best asset.

Good Location

Clean, well maintained motel in a great location. Only problems I had are the hard bed and, because of the location of the open pool, there is a strong chlorine smell everywhere. Good breakfast.

This is an older hotel and there are things that could be updated. Example, the wood was peeling off the bathroom door. The staff were pleasant, breakfast was good. There is a cute diner across the street that is worth checking out. This hotel is one block from Mark Twains boyhood home.Overall not a bad stay, just had higher expectations for a Best Western.

3 stars given; could had been 5. Staff, common areas (business area, indoor pool, gym), breakfast, and the location to site seeing were all terrific. However - the hotel was undergoing renovations on the 3rd floor during my Jan 2025 stay it was on the 3rd floor. I'm not sure if it contributed to my room problem, but - my room (Rm# 217) stayed hot and my thermostat did not work when adjusted. I'm assuming rooms above, below, and next to mine must have had the heat up... despite me being in a corner room of the building. When I turned the thermostat down to any temperature below 71 degrees in an attempt to stop the sauna-like heat, the wall between the bathroom and my bed shook violently loud and even made the bed vibrate. There was no sleep in this condition. On the second night I noticed I could open 1 of the 2 windows to let the 5 degree cold inside to help. But that was a pain to open/close and repeat throughout the night. There was no medium to cracking the window. It was either too cold or too hot in the room. Also, the furniture door that opens to the hidden refrigerator is barely hanging on and would not stay in a closed position. There was no space between that hanging door and the bed to walk around it. For $110 a night plus fees/taxes, I expect better. I let the clerk know... I hope they fix the problem. I really like Best Westerns - this one needs to fix some things.

A splash of disappointment off I-70

Desperation led us to this hotel for a late-night stop off I-70, but it wasn’t exactly restful. While the indoor pool and courtyard setup had potential, the overwhelming chlorine smell hung in the air like a bad decision. The exterior door lock was broken, adding to an overall feeling of insecurity. The parking lot was cramped and a nightmare for larger vehicles. Breakfast left much to be desired, though the friendly staff helped soften the experience. Fine for a quick stop if you’re exhausted, but there are better options for the weary traveler.
