It shines with its beach, pools, parties, and luxurious rooms—especially for families, groups, or guests who enjoy energetic vacation atmospheres. That said, if your top priorities include flawless room comfort, pristine service, and consistently fine dining, you might want to double-check reviews for your travel period or explore nearby Riu alternatives for comparison. Beach vendors can be persistent, sometimes detracting from the relaxing experience. Slow check-in processes, issues with smoking regulation, rude staff, or cleanliness problems Seaweed or algae on the beach and in the water. If i return to Punta Cana, Riu hotels and resorts will be at the bottom of the list. I paid for a King size bed suite and NOT two full size beds pushed together with the big crease in the middle and each bed made up separate. A easte of money for an upgrade charge.

I was quite disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The room had a noticeable musty odor, and many of the facilities appeared very outdated, with some not functioning properly. The overall cleanliness did not meet expectations. In addition, the restaurant food was inconsistent—often overcooked, sometimes too salty, and at other times lacking flavor. I hope the management can address these issues to improve the guest experience.

Major shortcomings in cleanliness, maintenance, and service From August 18–23, I stayed in a Junior Suite with Garden View at Rui Palace Punta Cana. This stay did not meet expectations for a resort of this level. - Service: Some staff members were rude, and this was amplified for guests of color. While language differences exist, courtesy and patience should remain constant. - Communication: I experienced persistent frustration from staff when I tried to communicate. A better effort to accommodate guests with language barriers is needed. - Cleanliness: The room was not clean at check-in. Housekeeping only changed towels (placed on the floor as instructed) and made the beds, with no thorough cleaning or fresh supplies beyond towels. - Maintenance: The toilet had issues that lasted two days and affected usability. - Pests: Cockroaches were present in the rooms and throughout the dining areas, which is unacceptable. Given these issues, I wouldn’t plan to return unless the hotel implements substantial improvements in staff training, cleaning protocols, maintenance responsiveness, and pest control.

My Third time staying at this resort, the property is great rooms are alittle outdated but over all clean comfy, the lobby is beautiful, great outdoor pools and area as well also has shopping center near pools in back, so many restaurants to choose from buffets always good, only complaint this time is the ocean was a disaster, the seaweed problem this year is insane the resort try’s it best to clean the shore but the ocean it’s self is bad, but that can’t be helped other then the ocean this resort is my go to doesn’t disappoint.
