It took forever to get to the room with a maze of stairs, hallways and elevators, I am not sure how an elderly person can do all this walking. I am not that old and ended up having foot sores on my feet from so much walking. I tried calling the front reception just to find out our phones were not working so I had to walk back through the maze to the front just to be told there are no more rooms available and to come back In the morning to talk to the supervisor. After we got settled into our new room, the safe was not working, and our power went out 2x times throughout the week where we had to call in for electrician service. Our TV was also not working. We are a family of 3 with a 10 year old boy. You advertise a big open beach, but when we got there it was marked off with a rope and boats were all over the place very close so basically we are swimming in dirty water full of boat gas. The hotel is beautiful but poorly managed, had nothing to do at night or during the day. The "Kids" club was empty the teens club he was not allowed in since its 12+. How can a hotel this size and for the money we pay have such bad management? There were clearly places for entertainment which were empty. As for the cherry on top on Tuesday I got food poisoning and had a fever tuesday, wednesday and thurday. My husband could not find the most basic chicken soup and bring to my room as they don't allow you to take the kitchen dishes anywhere. There was no chicken soup.

Overall great stay but rooms have a moisture/humidity issue. Had to be moved to another room. Rooms service is spotty and sometimes didn’t show up or wrong items were delivered. Beautiful property and fun pool. Beach is not nice so if that’s what you’re looking for go elsewhere. Also bring enough cash for tips. The ATM is horrible and doesn’t have a correct exchange rate. The wait staff is amazing 10/10! Needed my safe unlocked so I could use it and they never showed up in 4 days. A lot of food selections, although not all great. Great atmosphere specially at night and so many places to lounge. The night club and the theatre are 10/10! They put on a great show! We loved the Michael Jackson show. Also the kids enjoyed bowling (not included) and the teen club and water park were a lot of fun. My daughter loved the monkey excursion and we rented a private boat tour for 20 people and that was amazing! Estefani (Agua Viva) at the pool was the best and Hansen as well! They made our stay so much more enjoyable. The kids in our group ages 7-16 had a blast. Honestly not sure I would go back due to rooms and beach.

I stayed at Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino and honestly, I would not recommend it. The customer service was terrible from start to finish. Check-in: We waited over 45 minutes just to check in and still didn’t get a room right away. Staff insisted on holding our luggage and made us wait until our entire party arrived so a bellboy could walk us to the rooms — completely unnecessary and a huge waste of time after traveling. The staff overall felt more focused on tips than providing actual service. Rooms: The rooms were underwhelming for the price. No jacuzzi, cheap setup, and awkwardly designed bathrooms that aren’t fully sealed — uncomfortable when sharing with others. Most outlets in both the room and even the lobby were so loose they barely worked; I literally had to use a pillow to keep my charger in place. Definitely not “luxury.” Restaurants: We had a party of 12, and of course with a large group, sometimes you’re a few minutes late. At several restaurants, we arrived just 10 minutes late to reservations. The restaurants were practically empty, yet staff still refused to seat us. Instead, they made us wait until they served other guests — even though the place stayed empty. It felt like they went out of their way to be unhelpful. The food and drinks themselves were mediocre at best, with service painfully slow. Checkout: The final insult was at checkout. They required us to return beach towels in exchange for towel cards before we could leave
