Beautifully renovated traditional hotel in a fantastic location. We arrived at midnight, very easy check in at the Golden Star. We booked a Junior suite for 2 adults and 2 children (expecting 2 bedrooms) and were happy to find an extra single bedroom in the large suite. Really comfortable beds, quiet and relaxing. Great breakfast at the Golden star. Excellent value, we look forward to returning.

Very good location. Just 5 mins walking to Prague Castle. Balcony is nice with a small garden. Room is clean and affordable for family with 2 or even 3 kids. Only problem is no ac. In summer it's really hot.

Fantastic hotel with lovely staff. Huge space, perfect for a family of four with beautifully painted ceiling. Very quiet - the only thing we heard was the church bells ringing in the mornings and a lovely view over the wooded hill. Great location just below Prague Castle which meant you could beat the crowds in the morning.Everything else within walking distance. We much preferred Mala Strana to the old town which was very busy and seedy in places. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Super convenient location. Staff were very nice/friendly and helpful. Only downside is because it's an old building, it's not very accessible - we were situated on the top floor, so there were a number of stairs to climb...not a complaint, just a caution for those needing more accessible buildings.

I enjoyed staying here. The only downside is they don’t have an elevator but there’s attendant who can help you with your luggage going up and down the stairs. Room is comfy and clean, location is nice, and price is reasonable. Will recommend this to friends!

We had a great stay at the Red Lion, it was quiet, clean and full of character. Breakfast was lovely and the location was excellent too. It's on a hill, but so close to so many of the sights, no need for any form of transportation.

This charming hotel is located at the foot of Prague Castle, which makes visiting the castle early morning before it becomes crowded by tourists very easy. The daily breakfast was also very enjoyable.

Very good service, the room is very historical and clean. You can enjoy the atmosphere of the traditional living. Also, the breakfast has variety choice and is yummy. It is highly recommended to stay there. The castle is next to the hotel. It is very easy to access the tourist spot.

Keep in mind this is a historic old hotel. No elevator or a/c. The stairs are very hard and check in is in another building. But we LOVED it!!! So much history and walking distance from castle. The restaurant is excellent. And the breakfast so fresh and organic. And did I mention they give you a welcome beer upon checking. We will definitely go back.

Absolutely beautiful building close to the castle but also very walkable to Old Town. The stairs to our 3rd floor room were a slight challenge after walking all day but would definitely stay here again! Great staff and breakfast as well.

Prague part two

The hotel reception is not at this hotel. It is about 80 to 100 meters further uphill. The hotel room was like looking into an old historic bedroom in a museum. The room was warm but thankfully there were two fans. The decor surprised us and it was certainly unique. It can also be noisy as it was just above a restaurant. The location was quite far from the main sights and if you are not careful, it will be a steep climb up. Not recommended for people like me with bad knees. Checkin and checkout was great as the lady who handled it was very professional and extremely helpful. She was very knowledgeable. We booked this place as our second stop in Prague before leaving to Croatia. Not recommended if you want to be closer to the main attractions.
