We were scammed

We booked and fully paid almost 2 months ago "Maison Lirio" from hotels.com via 4homes. We booked this property because it had a huge balcony and a terrace with mediterranean views and also few steps to get into the house. This was the reason why we decided to stayed at Positano and we paid a huge amount for that property. The manager, Francesca informed me at the very last minute that she needed to change the property because of "a pipe problem" in the bathroom at Maision Lirio so the property was not available. She just said "I have to accommodate you in another propetry" and that I would have to pay more for a better located property. They accomodated at Casa allo Cheff (nothing compared of what we booked). it had not the view and it was located very high at the mountain. More than 70 steps and 4 stairs to get into the house. It was very uncomfortable to mange the bagages and luggages and we were exhausted to go up and down during the 3 days we stayed at Positano. On top of all of that, this the property had stairs too inside the house (which Maison Lirio did not have) the rooms were communicated with no privacy. Beds were so uncomfortable. WIFI was off and they were not able to fix it. Francesca asked me to pay for the local taxes wich was already paid in advance for the other property "Maison Lirio". I feel that we were scammed. What we finally got and booked is not what we paid for and I would like to request a reimbursement.

My favorite house I’ve ever stayed in on vacation

This property is INCREDIBLE. Perfectly positioned in the middle of the beautiful Positano view, the property is situated about 100 or 150 steps up.I promise, it’s So worth it for the view! I wish we could have stayed longer. I would highly recommend this place for any couple or small family. Gigi, the owner, greeted us and showed us everything on the property and made sure we had a perfect stay. He was such a delight to meet and speak with. He made sure the place was equipped with everything we needed, we were even able to make a dinner at home with amazing local ingredients. My favorite stay in italy…. Might be my favorite vacation of all time. Thank you to Francesca who worked with us on arrival and departure, and to Gigi for an incredible home and welcome!

Good value and location in Positano

The apartment is spacious and well located. The SITA buses to Sorrento stop very near the apartment, there is a good grocery store near-by as well. Gigi, the owner checked on us and brought us an espresso maker!! There is a lovely patio and the kitchen is well equipped. I would stay here again.

This property made for a wonderful holiday. Angelo was a lovely host who was very accommodating and made some great recommendations. The views from the property were spectacular. To get down to Positano was about a 15 minute walk with lots of stairs! Otherwise there was a public bus. Overall a great stay
