Thank you

When I asked about breakfast spots, no one recommended a very nice place right on the next block. Found it on my last morning. Would have liked pastries offered with the coffee. Would have saved me a lot of time in the morning

Beautiful old Inn

Pros: It is quaint and cozy.
Cons: Bathrooms are very small.
Location: The inn is on Main Street with shops and restaurants, a weekend Farmers' Market next door and a short ride to Kennebunk Beach.
Our stay at the Inn was very pleasant. Don't expect the luxury of a Hilton or Hyatt. The rooms are sparce but clean and comfortable. The sitting area on the second floor is a great place to meet instead of cramming into someone's room.. The food at the restaurant is delicious ( the chef is a "chopped" champion) and the bar is a nice gathering place. There is an outside courtyard to relax in weather permitting Behind the inn is a wonderful pastry shop for breakfast. I would highly recommend this inn for a quaint New England experience.

Nothing Quaint Here

I had a difficult time finding a hotel over the Labor Day weekend that would book for just one night (most had a two night minimum) and that is how we ended up at the Kennebunk Inn. When we arrived, we were led up two steep sets of stairs to a tiny room on the third floor. The room was terrible. It even had a free-standing room air conditioner taking up a corner of the tiny space. The worst part of the room was the bathroom. It had a very old and dirty looking floor with a small shower stall and the smallest sink I've ever seen. The other endearing feature was the sprinkler pipe that ran along the bathroom and bedroom ceiling. This poor little inn would need a lot of love and remodeling to make it somewhere I would want to stay. If our stay had been for more than one night, I would have handed in my key and gone elsewhere. We would have been much better off in a National chain hotel.

Attractive older renovated hotel

Pleasant and helpful staff. Older hotel, thus no refrigerator or coffee pot in room and creaky floors.  My husband and I are early risers so enjoy the room coffee pot idea.  Hotel restaurant was not open while we were here. Digital TV and great King size bed.  Wifi did not work in room, but did in nearby lobby on 2nd floor.

Mixed Review #2

I stayed at the Inn in November 2008. There were no amenities that you would expect to find at an Inn---no coffee/teas, etc and cookies set out at night. No continental breakfast in the AM. They offered coffee, tea, or milk in the AM only. Also, when I checked out, the bill was more than the online agency guaranteed. Since I had read the previous reviews, I was aware that they might do this. The Inn-keeper told me that it was a gratuity for their staff. I simply told her that I would prefer to pay the guaranteed rate and she removed it from my bill. (I did not have any staff do anything for me--so why should I pay a blanket gratuity). The bed was very comfortable--I had read in their Bio, which they have in each room, that they had recently purchased nice pillow top mattresses. They are quite proud of themselves as their bio goes on and on about their pedigrees---but good service is lacking. Also, very limited channels on TV---and when the neighbor's alarm clock went off at 5AM, it woke me---he kept pushing the snooze button (reminded me of our kids). :) But I was up!! So just remember that when you are at an Inn---its like being at home--except nothing is free here---no snacks, no breakfast---but you get added charges.

Adorable!!

This is an adorable property!! Very small and friendly - about 20 rooms. The dining room is amazing with a menu that exceeds expectations. Just minutes from Kennebunk Port where you will pay alot more!!! Very easy access off 95. Rooms are spotless - bathrooms are small, however, this is a very old building!! Loved the free wifi!!

A mixed review

The inn is a nice old renovated building, charming in parts. It's located on Route 1 and easy to get to. Not much of interest nearby to walk to. There's a good cafe across the street. Food in the dining room is vastly overpriced, and the menu pretends to things it doesn't deliver. Further, they won't honor the price that travel webs is quoting, so be careful with that. If we should ever decide to return to the neighborhood, we'll definitely choose another spot.

Peaceful and charming!

This is a lovely old inn, with a great atmosphere and perfect location. Unfortunately, my visit was cut short, and I didn't get to try the restaurant. However, my room was very comfortable (although the decoration was slightly on the sparse side), and I couldn't have been greeted more warmly. I'll definitely be staying here again. Cozy, snug and very inviting! (And the bed was so-o-o-o comfy!)
