Maine trip

Motel is seriously run down, but unit was clean & surprisingly well equipped with kitchenette & separate "sitting" area. There was also a pool which we didn't use, but it appeared to be clean & functional. The gentleman who ran (owned) the motel was extremely friendly & accommodating.

The sunrise motel

I am so glad we chose here to stay with our family of 6! We had a hard time finding somewhere to accomodate us last minute, and found this hidden gem! Reviews can be deceiving because the sunrise motel is amazing! The staff was welcoming and super friendly, made sure we had a nice ride in and gave us some advice on what to do with the kids. Our room was amazing, the largest cabin available, and right in the center of everything. Walked up to a lovely front porch, into the kitchenette and living room area, which also housed a very comfortable queen and twin sized bed, chair, couch, and dining table. Move into the main bedroom which has a king bed, love seat, dresser, and flat screen. Plenty of storage with a walk in closet room (we used it as a bedroom for our son with a blow up mattress) and the bathroom is huge, and has a nice jetted tub which we took full advantage of! Every morning they provide you fresh linens and, they check in to see if there's anything you need. We did bring our own toiletries, probably the only thing we didn't ask for. There is a nice 8 foot pool with a waterfall, and a swing set too! Overall very satisfied and will be back!

We didn't even end up staying. Pulled in and there was Boone available at the office. Called the manager, and he came down to check us in. When we got to the cabin, it was filthy. Odor from the carpet, doors falling off of the cabinets, cigarette burns in the comforters, soft floors from rot going into the bathroom. Overall just terrible. The manager was polite enough, a nice guy, but didnt offer a refund. Simply tried to convince us to stay in the next cabin over, which from the outside looked the exact same. I have no clue where all the five star reviews are coming from. It's unfortunate, because we were really hoping I would be a good spot for us to stay. But we didnt feel safe keeping our kids there.

Pleasantly surprised. Property was uniquely set up, with many choices of room types. Motel style, cottage style, etc. I'm guessing a young couple bought it and are refurbishing it themselves, a little at a time. It's going to need more work, but it was very spacious, comfortable and quiet. It had a little kitchenette, a king bed and a single bed. TV was a little weird, but it was a final stop in a 5 day vacation. I would absolutely stay there again, and we may go before the summer ends to support them. Not a chain! Bring your own shampoo and conditioner, though.

Great location! The room was spacious and clean, with a large fridge and 2-burner stove. The table and chairs came in handy for doing work. WiFi connection was solid. Huge king-sized bed with a single. The owner/manager was incredibly friendly and helpful. It's not the Hilton, but if you want a change from the chain hotels for a great price try the Sunrise

What a dump! Kitchen was filthy, the only coffee mug had a garden of mold growing in it. No toilet paper roller, TP was sitting on the counter. $1 item at Dollar Store. No glasses, not even plastic cups. Light bulb in the only lamp was burnt out. Mildew on the shower curtain. Total RIP OFF! TV would not turn on. Lucky the wifi worked so I could watch TV on my iPad. Bed was really soft. At least the sheets were clean. Strong smell of bleach but I appreciated that. Kill all the germs in that septic tank of a motel room. How could anyone rate that place "good"?

WORST STAY EVER!!!!!

This place is gross. And SOOO overpriced for what it was. Doors were missing from the cabinet, stains everywhere, the skylight was broken and was covered up with warped wood. Television in the bedroom wasn’t hooked up to anything so that didn’t work. But the kitchen was just beyond gross. Thankfully, all we did was sleep there, but the bed didn’t even have a comforter. Location was good, which is what we needed, but man this is place is a s#*t hole.

Budget vacationers secret

This is a good place for budget vacationers that don't want to or need to pay for a beachfront property. Old Orchard Beach is close enough that an Uber ride would be cheap. Easy access to water park next door. The hotel has a pool and some playground equipment in a central courtyard. There are several options for a family vacation, as well as smaller rooms for business travelers looking for a single night. You get what you pay for here. There are cabins, suites, and standard motel rooms. They all have refrigerators and stoves. There are some grills for outdoor cooking as well. I've stayed here more than once. Place seems to be owned by a family rather than some billionaire somewhere, and I like that.
