On street parking & easy access to public transportation this unit is situated in an exciting, but real-time gentrifying part of town...at times there can be transient/homeless roaming the streets, but a strong police presence & new restaurants on the same block make it quite safe.

The room was clean and John was great! He sent us lots of information and brought a small space heater for my wife without us even asking. We walked to a great BBQ spot just down the street and there were lots of other good restaurants in the area. We really enjoyed the location except for the amount of homeless who were at a nearby intersection (thankfully opposite direction of the BBQ restaurant). They were yelling and fighting quite a bit throughout the night and the fire department showed up at one point. We felt safe in our room though because we were behind 3 locked doors, but it was a little hard to sleep and my wife was unsettled and concerned. No issues though and the night went fine.

Did not stay at this rental .the homeless vagrants outside made wife uncomfortable. We chose not to stay. The description of the severity of the homeless issue was far worse. I felt like it was a ghetto neighborhood. So this listing should be removed so others dont get scammed in. I would not call this a walk every where location. Due to the roughness of the neighborhood.

This was in a sketchy neighborhood that made us feel very unsafe. There is a shelter nearby and there were people without homes and with substance use disorders and mental illnesses loitering outside of the house and made it hard to get into the house. The lock system didn’t feel particularly secure. The walls of the house were extremely thin and you could hear everything going on in other rooms which made it hard to sleep. One night there was a mentally disabled person outside of the building screaming which made it frightening and impossible to sleep. There was a musty and smoky smell that was unpleasant as well.

Great, comfortable place to stay. The location is super walkable. There are several bars/restaurants very close, and other areas are close enlighten to walk to as well (I.e. Congress Street). Commercial is a bit of a walk, but if you’re like us and love to walk a new area. It’s not that far. The bed is comfortable and the place was very clean. Communication was great. We would stay here again!

ehh…
Before check in the host was kind and incredibly communicative. Upon check out they asked how our stay was and I wrote them a message saying I’d rather discuss this before leaving a bad review but they left me on read… When we arrived there were so many unhoused folx outside the apt we didn’t feel safe entering. we literally saw a woman being chased/harassed while we were pulling up. If I wasn’t with my partner I would’ve had to cancel due to feeling unsafe. I have no bad feelings about unhoused people (I have lots of empathy /compassion). We looked at the other listing in the same building saying “think nyc in the 80s” and if ours said that we probably wouldn’t have booked. Other things to note - the ac didn’t work. I wish I could share the video. It sounded like a broken airplane. It was literally too loud to have on but the other windows being open didn’t make us feel safe. They also didn’t lock and the one that’s filled to the gills with trash & sheetrock debris was out of the tracks and couldn’t be opened for the sake of sheet rock dust/filth.All in all not a great experience. Just being fully transparent.
