Unfortunately, our experience with this cottage was far from what we expected based on the listing and photos.
The cottage did not appear to have been properly cleaned before our arrival. There were spiderwebs throughout, the deck was dirty, and we found dirty pans in the kitchen. There were also numerous maintenance issues, including damaged flooring inside and outside, broken plastic floor vents, damaged window screens and broken blinds.
We also had functional issues. The power would trip whenever we used the microwave, and the air conditioning stopped working after our first night.
Another major disappointment was the advertised quarry/water view. There was no quarry view from the cottage whatsoever, despite this being one of the features advertised and something we considered when booking.
On the positive side, the location within Sherkston was convenient, and being able to rent a golf cart directly from the property was a big plus and made getting around the resort very easy.
We enjoyed Sherkston and made the best of our weekend, but the cottage itself did not match what we felt was advertised. It needs significant cleaning and maintenance. We would return to Sherkston, but would not stay at this particular cottage again.
