Upgrade was more of a downgrade

Ive stayed at this hotel for MANY years in the past and while yes it has always been a little outdated, I've always loved the vibe and it's always been comfortable and I loved the staff. This time around I thought it was going to be great since the new owners remodled, BUT IT WASN'T! Our mattress looked like it was from the 80's. Discolored, stained and gross. Not comfortable compared to most hotels we stay at. The cheap bed frame made tons of noise. And when i pulled back the sheets to get in bed (on both queen beds) there were small remains of leaves inbetween. So weird. The floors had what looked like white salt marks on it from a wintery day. The rooms stunk. I literally felt like it was a downgrade from what once was. Idk. The set up for the breakfast was nice. I'll give them that. Check in was "eh". But the lady who worked the front desk shortly after we checked in was awesome. It's sad. I will not be staying here anymore unfortunately.

The property was easy to access but need major renovation. Also we had rented the hot tub room as it had a hide a bed in couch but did not receive bedding for the extra bed. When asked for some bedding we received one blanket and pillows. Zero sheets on the bed. Hot tub handle came off in our hand when we went to use it. Bed made weird sounds under frame as well. Zero soaps in bathroom either.

Hotel likes to book out rooms that have showers that dont work, then expect you to pick up and move to a different room. Please to room checks PRIOR to guest check in. They offered a new room but it was late in the evening after everthing was unpacked. They would not refund after inconvenience.

Very clean room. Well-decorated. Bed was comfortabe. Nice big screen TV. Great value! Very pleased. Continental breakfast was good. Waffles available, but no hot eggs/sausage etc. There is a bar on-site, but was closed on Monday and Tuesday nights, the two nights I was there.

Good place to stay

You typically get what you pay for when it comes to hotels and this was no exception. Friendly staff and the the rooms were clean. Pool seemed okay though my son, a former lifeguard, commented the water looked off. General wear and tear is catching up to the place - scratches, dents, and dings - suggesting not a lot is being invested back to improve experience. That said, it's super affordable and a great option if you need a place to stay when visiting family. I imagine it would be fun for families looking for a cheap stay-cation.

Room was nice and large. Amenities were good. Staff friendly and helpful. But the bathroom was stained, outdated and frankly gross. Hate to say it but would avoid in future due to this and sad what I paid for a room I didn’t feel comfortable showering in.
