The staff was super nice, the location was very convenient to our friends house, and the room was big. That is about all the positives that I can mention. Some of the faucets were leaking, there was no shower gel in the respective container, the bed was sinking in where one of us lied, and we could hear every single neighbor - especially the ones above us, and not because they were particularly loud. They are renovating right now. I hope that eventually they'll be done with all the rooms and that they'll put some sound insulation in. The price we paid was definitely not justified, not even on a Thanksgiving weekend.

This property is near downtown Placerville (Main and Spring Streets) Although it’s not walkable unless you’re an experienced marathon walker, it’s an easy 8 minute drive. Now for the property. Excellent, friendly staff!!! Every single person I encountered at the front desk was wonderful! When I got to my room #227, the sink in the bathroom was clogged up. I played with the plunger/stopper, but water was just sitting in the sink. Since there was another sink in the coffee area, I didn’t care. Strangely the following day. The sink seemed to be draining better. I wish there were more blankets in the room. I expected one in the closet, but nothing. I don’t like sleeping with a heater running all night because the room gets very stuffy. I could have called for a blanket request, but I was so tired from the flight that I didn’t want to deal with a clogged sink or blanket. When I turned the heater on, the unit blew a bad scent out. I tried switching from heat to the fan mode, but that didn’t help either. The bathroom bathtub had VISIBLE long black hairs. At the end of the day, I didn’t care because don’t nitpick. Im just sharing my review for people who walk in thinking they booked a 5-star hotel. Positives: Great staff, comfortable bed, great location next to a nice Mexican restaurant and close to historical downtown Placerville, lots of parking and a nice free breakfast in the morning serving both hot and cold options.

From the moment we drove onto the property we were disappointed how outdated it felt. From the door handle falling off in our hands, to the zero hot water in our room, to the “lime green” water in the hot tub, to the bathroom sink faucet that was literally ready to fall apart, to the “fireplace” that was nothing more than a colored lightbulb that blows hot air. For $244 a night, this was the most over priced hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff was nice, but clearly wasn’t there to go above and beyond. When they were told about the lack of hot water, thier only response was “I’ll note that”. An “I’m sorry” would have gone a long way. 20 years ago, I could tell this hotel was very nice! But with lack of upkeep , room 308 is far from a $244 room. There aren’t may options near placerville, but for the money, I would definitely recommend driving a little farther.

Saturday morning, October 25, our room did not have any hot water in the morning 6:30 am to 8am. I called the front desk and they said they would get a maintenance person to look into the matter. When I returned from breakfast around 8:30 am there was hot water. This is the reason we gave good ratings on some of our responses.
