Our experience at Il Borro was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff. Everyone was very helpful. Our rooms were absolutely stunning, complete with amenities (robe, slippers, etc.) We ate at Osteria Del Borro, which was a wonderful experience; the food was fantastic. The breakfast options were also very plentiful, and the food very fresh. We loved exploring the grounds and would definitely recommend doing a wine tasting. We did the Drops of Jupiter Experience. Our family is looking forward to returning to Il Borro in the near future!

An over priced gimmick. The place barely has any staff. Breakfast experience is a nightmare. Good luck getting a place to sit and good luck getting any service. Took 45 minutes and chasing services to finally get a coffee that was cold. Nice concept - but not the service is non existent!!!

Il Borro is the very best of Tuscany! An exceptional retreat with fantastic service, great food, and some of the best wine in Italy. Not to mention horseback riding — the resort has more horses than staff. The perfect way to unwind and spend some great time together as a couple or a family. We will definitely be back!

Overall a disappointment! For this price, there are a lot of other hotels you could stay in that are in a better location (the drive to the hotel is particularly unattractive) and have better amentities. For a small hotel, I found the service a bit lacking and impersonal. The grounds were also very disappointing (don't be fooled by the marketing materials, they are not well kept). Weeds, brown water in the fountains, and the gardens are not maintained. The biggest disappointment however was the restaurant, the food was pricey but uninspired (my bf had roasted meat and mashed potatoes that looked like wedding food) and not very interesting. The one pro is the wine is very good but still definitely would not recommend staying here!

The place is beautiful and the room are very pleasant, but the staff is not very professional, young and unprepared (for example, at breakfast one waitress took from our table the bottle of orange juice that we ordered so that she could pour some juice to a lady at another table, "because they did not have anymore juice"!?) , there was not enough staff at night (we had to wait 15 minutes to get the entrance gates opened one evening after dinner, because the only person working at at that time was occupied driving some other guests from the main receipt to the rooms, which are located 5 minutes walking/driving from the reception), the rooms have a heating problem (we were 6 people in 3 rooms, one of which was freezing for all the 3 nights we stayed, even if we asked to find a solution, while another was boiling hot all time, even with the heating set on OFF). Also, this little holiday was a gift from my father to his son and daughter and their respective wife and husband, but the hotel left on the last day in each room the bill of the hotel, so everyone saw it. The structure of Il Borro is beautiful, even if very unpractical: to have breakfast you have to wear your coat and walk 5 minutes to the breakfast location. Also, there is no indoor swimming pool, while we saw a photo of a indoor pool when booking, which is actually part of a private villa in Il Borro, and therefore not accessible. All the above is not in line with a Relais & Châteaux hotel and the cost of this place.

Tuscany at its best

This an amazing property in a most beautiful Tuscan setting. The heated infinity pool is incredible. The restaurants are outstanding and the estates wines our brilliant and make sure you book a wine tasting with Florence. The staff and all very friendly and most professional. The view are incredible and our suite was more like a luxurious Tuscan villa, massive bedroom, bathroom and living room including a large dinning table. The property as great walking trails, golf course and even its own ancient chapel and castle ruin. This is a very special property in a beautiful part of Italy.
