The room was clean, staff treated everyone like VIP. I enjoyed the free shuttle bus to the main attractions and the complimentary airport shuttle. The free breakfast tastes great. Would like to see more shows and performances at the resort. Activités for families to do.

The resort itself is nice enough, but the little things were not good at all which all added up to a disappointing stay. Really crowded, a staff not able to cope. All beach and pool beds were reserved unbelievably early by people taking towels and placing them on the beds, and then there were no other towels available, so literally nowhere to sit. Same with the breakfast/lunch/dinner buffets. Too many people to cater for so items not replenished and the staff didn’t really seem able to cope or care. Room view was not what we booked and paid for, and everything felt a little difficult rather than it being the relaxing beach break we hoped for. It didn’t feel like Vietnam at all, and it felt like the resort we’re trying to charge for every single add on possible. The one shining light was Duty Manager, Bella who went above and beyond in trying to rectify the issues that we highlighted, but for me the operation is flawed from the top tier.

Services are slow and housekeeping needs improvements. For examples such as dirty glasses were not replaced with new ones, some electrical outlet in our rooms were not working, cleaning solution was left in our room m, and bedsheet and cover had a musty-smelling. We notified the front desk. This is a beautiful resort and the services should be improved.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The staff were consistently helpful and genuinely friendly — easily one of the highlights of the stay. Every interaction felt warm and attentive. The location, however, is quite isolated. While this may appeal to travellers looking for peace and quiet, it does mean you’re fairly removed from nearby restaurants, shops, and general conveniences. On the plus side, the beach is absolutely fantastic — clean, spacious, and a real asset to the property. Unfortunately, the room quality let the stay down. The door locking mechanism broke on the first day, and after it was “fixed,” the entire door frame gave way. It didn’t feel secure, and it certainly wasn’t what you’d expect at this price point. On a more positive note, the food was excellent throughout — fresh, well-prepared, and consistently tasty. It’s clear the kitchen team take pride in what they do. Overall, the stay had some real strengths, but the room issues were too significant to overlook. With improvements to maintenance, this could be a fantastic spot.

Do not rely on what this hotel claims—insist on seeing the room before paying. This was possibly the worst hotel experience I’ve had. It feels like a low-end motel, and the location is the only positive aspect. The staff were unfriendly, the room smelled unpleasant, and the bed was essentially a box spring with no mattress. Worst of all, I woke up with bedbugs on my head. When I asked to change rooms, they refused to assist. A local tour guide confirmed that deceptive and bait-and-switch tactics are reportedly common at Hanoi Old Square Hotel. He strongly recommended choosing a 5-star hotel next time.

The look of this resort is amazing however staff let this place down. Hotel staff and bar staff were friendly and helpful but the lifeguards and restaurant staff were very rude. My daughter fell over in front of a lifeguard and as I was rushing to get to her I saw the lifeguard laughing at her instead of helping her also the drama of getting enough towels everyday was ridiculous, if you’re travelling in a group they come over and question you why you have so many towels I needed to get a manager involved one day to explain we were two rooms together.

This review is for like-minded travellers (we’re from Canada) who came to Vietnam for its natural beauty & culture. We made a very last minute decision to change our plans to visit Phu Quoc so it was the first time I booked a hotel without doing any research. Vinpearl came up as #1 in Trip Advisor & Luxury Hotels.com, so based on that i quickly booked this place. We liked the fact that had a casino 5 min away & night market & a beautiful beach & spa. Well little did I know that this place & its huge property (Grand World etc) is like entering the twilight zone or entering something resembling universal studios but completely dead & empty. It gave us the eeriest feeling. We didn’t go to the casino because it had the worst reviews & the night market is part of their Grand World which is the most oddest place. Having said that, it appeared that we were the only people that thought this. Everyone else acted like it was the happiest place on earth. Tourists were mostly from a certain country. This place was so odd that we cut our losses on our 3 night hotel pymt, paid our flight change fee & booked it out of there. In fairness, the one day I spent there, I had a nice day lying on the beach & enjoyed the hotel’s very lovely spa (not cheap though). The room was large and clean. The facility is somewhat run down. Beach is nice but pool loungers would have garbage & dirty diapers lying around all day. Jumped in the pool for 1 min & came out with black long hair between my fingers
