This might be an underrated gem, being a more budget-friendly option so near the Perth CBD. Late check-in process was easy and the hotel is set on a quiet street so I didn't feel unsafe, even though I arrived around 11:00pm. Just make sure you call them the day before and tell them you want late check-in so they can give you instructions on entering the building. Furnishings may be slightly dated but the room was otherwise spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable, and there was also a well-equipped kitchen and laundry room to make it a "home away from home". Shops and entertainment in Perth CBD were easily accessible by public transport, or you could even walk it if you wanted the exercise. There's also a local supermarket and takeaway restaurants nearby if you can't be bothered going into the CBD. Hotel reception closes at 12pm each day. It would be nice if they would be open a bit later (say until 5pm) but it didn't stop me enjoying my stay.

The after hours access was quick and simple, easy parking and close to a kebab shop for dinner. Clean and neat apartment that was fully equipped to make breakfast on the morning we left.

Clean, convenient and value for money. We stayed at Starwest for 10 nights, the location is good, short walking distance to the river and to Bell Tower/Elizabeth Quay. The apartment is self-contained, and clean.

Perth Footy Trip

Check in was difficult, arrived 12pm, just to find out the check in procedure, was told check in was 2pm, which we knew, was shown a box where our keys would drop down, and told the code, which was # and the last 5 numbers of the booking number, any problems to go to the convenience store, which is part of the building, came back at 2pm, tried the code several times, didn't work, so went to the shop, the girl there rang the manager, handed the phone to me, I told him the code doesn't work, he said try pushing the #key, it will clear it and try again, tried, still didn't work, must be keying it in wrong he said, be there in 10 minutes, manager arrives , does not check to see if the code works, opens the box with a key, has a fiddle in there, shuts the box, keys the code in and it works, then says, see it works, you were keying it in wrong, really! So after about 3/4 hr, finally get into our apartment (8th floor) only to find, 1 double bed room and the 2nd room locked, We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment , went down to the shop again, the girl was helpful, she said the 2nd was locked because they thought it was a 1 bedroom apartment booking, gave me a key to open it, but had to bring the key straight back, so up and back, all good, the apartment itself is quite functional and clean and the area is close to everything, public transport is excellent and free in the CBD, easy to get around if don't want to walk, plenty eateries close by. overall had a great time in perth.
