Friendly staff upon arrival. Ordered from the restaurant for dinner, was delicious meal. Room was clean and tidy and had black out blinds. Could occasionally hear other guests though nothing to complain about.

I paid for an upgrade, Lord help the other rooms is all I can say. The bathroom has nooks and crannies from previous paint jobs and its seeping brown stuff in the cracks. It was very noisy outside. The safe was not working. My key card was not working which happens. Maybe I look trustworthy but when I asked at reception for another card, they just asked for my room number. No proof of ID or hotel card slip with my number on. Thank goodness there’s chain locks to put across the doors

Disappointed.

It’s an old water mill with a stream running under the bar /lounge which can be seen via glass viewing windows in the floor. Unfortunately there is an awful damp fusty smell in this area making it quite unpleasant to sit in. Also safe in room broken and unusable, kettle lid broken meaning it doesn’t switch off automatically. Hotel is very tired looking and in need of an upgrade.

Was given a disabled room despite not being disabled, perhaps because the platform lift was out of order. Extensive mould on the tile grout in the bathroom. Floorboards in room above very squeaky and could hear conversation of occupants clearly. Window single glazed and draughty. Breakfast room gloomy with dated decoration and no disabled access. Staff helpful but hotel badly needs refurbishment.

We have stayed here before. We booked through Expedia and opted for the Privilege room. When we arrived to check in we were told that there were no Privilege rooms available. They only have 2 apparently. The receptionist who was also the duty manager said that there was nothing she could offer us and that we should take it up with Expedia. We suggested that she had to resolve the problem at which point she became very defensive and left the reception area for some minutes. When she came back, she offered us a couple of complimentary drinks at the bar. We accepted and got on with our stay. Had she owned the problem from the start and offered some form of compensation an awkward situation would have been avoided. Simply to shrug and blame Expedia was not the way to handle the situation.

Very average place to stay

We stayed 2 nights April 2025. The hotel is central and convenient for almost anything you'd want to do in Perth. While the hotel is clean and comfortable enough, it's a bit dated. Examples are old shower heads and no electric points or charging points next to the bed. Bar service was a bit erratic / slow, with only a basic stock. Staff friendly and helpful though.

Met by friendly and helpful reception staff. Room clean and lovely large bed. The only downside for us was eating in the restaurant. Big prices for food which was bought in. We each had a starter at £8.95. I had creamed mushroom, two pieces of toasted bread with mushrooms in a congealed sauce. I expected a proper cream sauce at that price. I opted for ‘pie of the day’ which was chicken and ham. When it arrived it was a heated pie that you would buy from a bakers. At £17.95 I would have expected something better. When I asked the waiter about it I was told it’s what they get from the Mercury supplier! My husband had beetroot pasta dish, £17. Small portion - see in photo. I shared my chips Avoid and head to one of the many lovely - and better priced restaurants in close vicinity!!

The hotel was just ok. The room.was very tired looking and the bathroom tiles must have been painted years ago and the paint was flaking off very badly. The room was clean enough but a few hairs and dirty marks had been missed.
