You pay for the character and proximity to train station, Fed Square and South Bank. Although and experienced traveler, I was inclined to get off the streets by 8.30pm and felt safer back at the hotels restaurant/bar!

The room was nothing like the photo & i spoke to the manager who said it was just a guide photo. I then went on to say its very misleading. I should of listened to the comments as the location is great but the hotel is extremely tired and needs revamping.

As most other people who have reviewed this place have said it’s clean but old, staff are friendly if you just want a really cheap bed for the night in the middle of the city it’s great. If you want somewhere nice to stay I would pick somewhere else

The room is very small and old. They have only one staff member, the bed is extremely uncomfortable, and too soft in the middle same with the pillow feels old. The only good thing about this accommodation is its central location, allowing you to explore the city on foot. However, be mindful that there is no parking available, and you’ll need to pay $37 at Wilson Parking and walk. It’s not recommended if you’re looking for a comfortable stay or if you have a car. This place is only suitable for those relying on public transport and with if you are in budget.

Does the Job

It does the job: the shower was excellent, the beds were comfy, the room was big enough and the tv was good too. Only negative was the stains on the curtains and the slightly outdated carpeting

Going downhill

Would have been a grand hotel in its day, however looks as though there has been no investment in infrastructure in the last 20 years (bald stair carpets etc). Basic, clean rooms for those looking for budget stay

Nice hotel :-)

Basic but excellent hotel, very clean. Looks a bit dodgy but is actually in an excellent location. Would happily stay here again. Staff are a bit miserable, but then again was only there to sleep.
