Misty Mountain Retreat by Tiny Away is a tiny house located just 1 hour and 20 minutes from Cairns in the quiet town of Peeramon. It overlooks a beautiful valley with views of Mount Bartle Frere and is a great base to explore the Atherton Tablelands.
Nearby attractions include Millaa Millaa Falls, Lake Barrine, Malanda, and Yungaburra. This peaceful retreat is surrounded by World Heritage-listed national parks, perfect for relaxation and adventure.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with abundant natural bushland, easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower—making it a perfect choice among relaxing holiday homes.

Guests can access the tiny home and surrounding areas with the exception of the main residence.

Misty Mountain Retreat by Tiny Away in Peeramon is just an hour and 20 minutes from Cairns. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Bartle Frere and explore the Atherton Tablelands’ volcanic lakes, rainforests, and waterfalls. Swim at Lake Eacham, visit Mt Hypipamee National Park and the lush rainforest at Mungalli Falls, go boating at Lake Tinaroo,or experience Kuranda’s scenic train, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, and Koala Gardens.
Nearby, you can also explore Millaa Millaa Falls, a must-see in the Atherton Tablelands. Mount Bartle Frere, Queensland’s highest peak at 1,622 meters, is part of Wooroonooran National Park. Lake Barrine in Crater Lakes National Park offers walking trails, boat cruises, and a peaceful teahouse.

- From Cairns: 1 hour and 20 minutes (recommended route: Kuranda Range, not Gillies).
- 5 minutes from Malanda.
- Reachable by 2WD and 4WD.
By Public Transport:

By Flight:
- Fly into Cairns Airport, then drive 1 hour and 20 minutes to Misty Mountain Retreat using the Kuranda Range route.
Other Things to Note:
- Wifi is not available
- BBQ Grill is not available
- No pets are allowed on the property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Smoking is not allowed inside/outside the tiny home
- Mobile reception has good signals for Telstra and no signals for the rest
- Due to the nature of the property, wildlife may be present on the property.
- Make sure to turn off the lights, AC, electronics, close windows, and lock doors when leaving
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge

- Outdoor fire pits are not available during the fire, cyclone, and winter season
- NOTICE: Drone usage is not allowed on the property to protect neighbors' privacy and safety.
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
