The room was very clean and the staff were quite helpful. The pool and property were very well maintained. It was very quiet and was a great place to disconnect and enjoy and relax.

We stayed at two bedrooms villa for three nights, and the whole experience was not so satisfying. We understand it is inside the valley so lots of bugs were expected but there were still some dead bugs on the linen every night even after the room service. The rooms really need a thorough cleaning due to lots of stains on the wall and furniture. Also it is really far away from Ubud so it is only recommended if you’re staying at the villa for the entire trip. The credits will be given to the friendly staff and they provided an excellent service.

Great location and great views

We had a great three day stay. The location was quiet, secluded with great views and stunning surrounding gardens. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The accommodation is nice but it does need some attention as it's showing signs of needed maintenance. We unfortunately didn't end up using the pool as the water was really cold and being at high elevation the weather was quite cool..

Peace and Heaven on Earth

Stunning views of rice terraces in this secluded escape away from it all. Although the rooms were sold out the resort is designed in a way that makes you feel like you are the only one there. The staff was attentive but not intrusive and the grounds were absolute tranquility. This is paradise if you want to relax at the resort, take a dip in your private plunge pool or swim the infinity pool. Be warned, there are stone stairs that they will guide you down (not too far) however we arrived after dark and it was a surprise. Not a problem at all unless you are traveling with someone that has difficulty with stairs.

Awesome place to get away from stress

We spent 5 nights there. It was our honeymoon and we wanted to relax and get out of the work stress. It absolutely fulfilled our needs. Beautiful view, fresh air, silence (no noise of traffic), noise of nature...loved it. Massage was excellent, too, and cheap. The staff is very nice and responsive. They created vegetarian menu for us, everything was delicious and fresh. Pool was a good feature. Only one thing: vasps. They got into the room / our villa. They should be eliminated from rooms, gaps to be filled...etc. Apart from it I cannot complain.

Great getaway near Ubud!

We stayed at Dara Ayu for 3 nights in March 2017. When we booked, we were unaware that the hotel would be in such a remote location (no restaurants nearby), but we were still very happy with our experience overall. We had been staying in Canggu previously, so on our way to Dara Ayu we had our driver take us to the monkey forest in Ubud and the rice fields. On our first full day at the resort we spent the day lounging around the pool. It was beautiful being surrounded by jungle and rice fields. The next day we did a trek to Mount Batur early in the morning so we spent the afternoon by the pool again. And then the next day on our way south to Uluwatu we had our driver take us to the elephant safari and a waterfall. So we didn't do too many activities while we were actually staying at Dara Ayu, instead we did it on the way there and back. The only place to eat is the hotel restaurant, which was decent. The prices were reasonable, but a bit high compared to the rest of Bali. The Wi-Fi was extremely unreliable which was a bit frustrating! We stayed in the Dewi Sinta room located on the pool level, which was amazing. It had a king bed (which had heating capabilities), AC, a little porch area, an indoor area to hang clothing and keep your luggage, and the outdoor washroom (which was very unique)! The room itself was great, but there were a LOT of ants in the room. We sprayed the insect spray on them and unfortunately our room was not cleaned for the duration of our stay.
