Unfortunately, this beautiful resort is under major construction and they never mentioned it when booking. And when we reviewed their own website no mention of construction either. Our nice room is right up against buildings and ground under construction. Internet down cause construction cut line. No TV, coffee shop mostly down, no smoker for food, best restaurant on site closed, front desk phone down, construction noise until 8p. What a shame. And it was our 30th anniversary. Staff good but not many around. Beautiful pools and hot tubs. Will be great resort someday….

Great end of summer Lanor Day 1 nt stay while we swam in the crater the next day. Enjoyed newly renovated 2 large pools,3 hottubs, and groomed landscapings. Great lemon curd donut at Milkhouse. Mindful there’s constructions all around the properties.

My wife and I have been here many, many times and it has always been charming, yet this time it was subpar. Be aware: 1)There is quite a bit of construction around the outside of the property, which includes the parking lot area, outside the property boundaries, and some of the golf area. It doesn't interfere with the core of the resort, but it detracts from the charm. 2) Service - if you want any help with your luggaage, good luck. The parking lot is gravel or pitted and if it rains is a muddy mess. There is no one to help with luggage, either from your car, or to your room. The parking lot is 50 yards from check in and the cottages are spread across the property. The most annoying thing was you can only communicate in person or through text with the front desk, or getting assistance. There are no phones in the rooms. I tried calling the main number many times, but only got a busy signal each time. They do respond to text, but it takes time to get an answer to even the simplest questions. 3) Rooms - we booked one of their top priced rooms and found it to be disappointing in some ways (tiny closet with only a hanging bar halfway up, so nothing long can hang; smallest and cheapest amenities I have seen in a premium property for a long time; stains on the couch and the rug), yet overall the size and design was nice. 4) Consideration. After 3 nights in a premium room we asked for a one hour later checkout and was basically dismissed by the front desk. Not great customer service.

This property has some beautiful grounds and the rooms are updated and relaxing. We loved the big bathroom and the beds were very comfortable. The parking is a bit of a hassle and was very muddy and messy as it’s not paved but just gravel and dirt. We are at both restaurants in the property as well as the small coffee shop. We loved our experience at the grill. The food was fantastic and our service was excellent! Our experience at the more expensive restaurant was not as good. The food was ok but way too expensive for what we got. Our service was subpar at best and the staff seemed uninterested and undertrained. With that being said, we generally loved most of our stay there and are looking forward to the expansions they are making.

I want to say thayt we had a great time for a family renunion. I did not realize the grounds are still under construction. My husband is handicapped and it was difficult to get anywhere. A very long walk to the pool and to different paths to the pool, the 1st one was a handicapped walkway that led to a locked gate to the pool, we had to walk back and go thru the parking lot. The other way was one the staff suggested to my husband that uses a walker was also a long walk leading to a straircase ... while the staff and maids are zipping around on golf carts, The food at 1886 is so good but the staff and the bees are dreadful. This was our second time staying at the resort and we had hoped they got it together but sadly no. We ditched our food covered in bees and attempted to find another table (noone helped we moved us and our granddaughter all our food and drinks were we got attacked by bees again. The staff is not trained on good customer service and the don't have that natural instinct of what to do ehn issues arise. The pool service from the restaurant is non exsisting.

Property had good pools and nice grounds. The service was poor. We had gas leaking into our room from a utility closest adjace t to the room. After complaining several times they finally moved us to another room. Then we had to move again since that room was rented the next day. What a headache and I was sick from the gas for a day. The resort gave me $350 credit on a $2k stay for all that trouble.
