We checked in late evening and the front desk people weren’t friendly. I’m use to having hot water and the hot water is lukewarm at best. The breakfast did not have a good selection. Next time I’m back in Bohol I’ll be staying at a different resort.

Beautiful place and friendly staff. We wanted to recognize a staff member working in the dining room, his name is John Sumili. Modala was beautiful. There are many hotels in Bohol, but I'm so glad we chose this one. The pool and beach are pristine and quiet, and we loved the shopping area attached to the hotel, with good restaurants, cafes, and lovely shops for souvenirs and handmade jewelry. The hotel restaurant was excellent, and the buffet breakfast was extensive and featured local delicacies from Bohol - something new every morning. The staff were so gracious and accommodating. I would return to Bohol just to stay at Modala again!

Check-in service level was very poor, got the wrong room assigned had to argu a lot to finally get the room I had booked after they had told me it was not available. Seems the staff doesn’t want to bother going the extra mile, always chilling and chatting with each other. Would not recommend ordering any of the pizzas there, the worst I have eaten so far.

I’d to book 3 rooms last minute as our flight got delayed by one day. The staff is excellent, the front desk even went out of their way to make room suggestions. The rooms are very clean, spacious, bathrooms are excellent and the A/C (mini split) works as designed. The private beach is clean, infinity pool looks amazing and the Koi fish in the lobby was such a nice surprise. Excellent resort.
