Intimate & Convenient

The Colony is my Go-To hotel when visiting Palm Beach. Well-equipped, recently redecorated rooms, unobtrusive but solicitous staff at your service from the moment you arrive, dining and swimming pool are convenient, and the ocean is a block away. Shopping and delightful dining on Worth Ave. are a 5 minute walk. A delightful alternative to the mega-hotels. Clothing inadvertently left in our room was promptly located and mailed to me.

Great place

Great place to stay. Unfortunately the beach was being refurbished and we had to drive to get to where you could use it. But normally it’s a short walk. Also the shower stall leaked and flooded the bathroom floor. I do love to stay there.

Great value for an elegant experience,well located

Pros: Small and quiet. No blaring pool music. Great staff and a bit of non-phony elegance.
Cons: Ventilation system is a bit noisy. The old wooden dresser in the room needs to be replaced. The drawer stuck constantly.
Location: Worth avenue, the Flagler museum, and the Duck Boats are within reasonable walking distance.
Yes, I know the hotel is old by modern standards, and some silly travelers gave the Colony a 'terrible' rating, but we found the place to be quite nice with a friendly informative staff; a beautiful pool area; and a complementary full breakfast on the pool veranda that more than rivals most 5-star locations in the Caribbean. The site is only 100 yards from the famous Worth Avenue (the Beverly Hills Blvd of the East Coast). The beach is a mere 200 yards away; rooms are cleaned twice a day; complementary bottled water is provided in the room and for beach excursions. Beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas are complementary. Bike rentals are available for the lake district adjacent to the hotel. The hotel snack bar is a rarity - very good sandwiches and daily hot meals for under $10.
