Lovely old style hotel. Easy parking. Great staff. Found the hotels tunnel down to the beach this time which was a bonus. Excellent value for money and we will definitely return.

Seven days of bliss.

A delightful place to stay. Right on the sea with a splendid terrace. Restaurant, bar service, swimming pools, a gym and lots of free parking. A splendid hotel for a base to explore south Devon. A lift is available for most floors.

Viewers lovely and the dining room served Good Food although sometimes they had items on the menu that were not available. Really appreciated our server Oxanna as she was incredibly personable and attentive to our needs.

Lovely stay at this beautiful hotel, loved the history and grandness of this old hotel, makes a change from modern ones, with lovely bay views . Fantastic breakfast with very good waiter service in a room overlooking the sea. Room very clean with view of sea and pier. Only problem was toilet flush stopped working, and needed fixing, but would stay here again

Great location

The location is absolutely stunning. Only issue is there was no air con so incredibly hot on the heat wave and for some reason the dog friendly wing of the building was incredibly hot? The rest of the building was cool. The food was ok. Staff were excellent. The pool was such a great asset but was super dirty every morning (some dried weetabix left on the poolside the 3 days we were there). The building was really tired and it’s really not disabled friendly at all. If you were disabled I don’t think you could get anywhere really. A cool hidden tunnel underneath leads you to its own like private beach - super super cool. Wasn’t told about this or anything else about the hotel or local area throughout our stay. Would I stay there again? Maybe if I didn’t have a dog and it was a cooler/ none of my party were concerned about cleanliness. I wouldn’t eat there again. Would definitely have beers out overlooking the sea though, that’s beautiful.

Good but dated hotel.

Good hotel whose dated appearance masks the facilities and staff helpfulness. Our room (18) was spacious and well equipped. My only complaint was no table at "my" side of the bed yet had the single and double been moved to the left one could have fitted. It makes a nice change to order the cooked breakfast and have it brought to our table.

No bathroom toiletries :(

Lovely solo room, shame there was NO shower gel - no toiletries whatsoever except for handwash, not even available from reception. I did receive extra mini milks though. Delightful breakfast room overlooking the sea with a nice breakfast (don't order poached eggs unless you want them solid and overcooked.) Ample parking.

Overall the hotel was spotless and staff were excellent. The food and service were very good. Our room was excellent with sea views. Really hot though but that wasn’t the hotels fault. Only slight issue was the cleanliness of the swimming pool. Will the changing rooms were spotless the pool itself needed quite a bit of attention. The rails and walls around the edge of the pool itself were quite dirty. Just let down the overall experience but would still highly recommend.
