Talladega Weekend

Got to the motel to find that they were remodeling. Had to wait for a room to be ready. Doors were wide open for workers so bugs could crawl right in, and air conditioners were maximum with the doors wide open. Finally got into a room, but having dealt with construction/real estate before it was clear that no final punch list was done and they were just trying to get people in the rooms for the race, because the room was missing base boards, door jams, paint on the floors, no final cleaning done before customers came in. Microwave was plugged in, but it was a good thing we looked before turning it on, because it had the vent, books, etc. inside it, meaning it had metal sitting inside the microwave, so that was a fire hazard. We didn't require our room to be cleaned each day but did want fresh towels since their towels were small and thin, but we had a very hard time getting fresh towels. I was finally able to get fresh towels and was amazed that the towels that I was given were frayed on the ends but at that point I was just happy to get clean towels, until I got back to the room and realized that the reason they were frayed on the end was because what I had received was actually one towel that had actually been ripped in two pieces. At that point it was so bizarre, it was just laughable! This was the first place I have been into in 20 years that didn't have a hairdryer, so I had to buy one, and the restaurant was closed for construction, so no continental breakfast either.

I would not want any one I know to ever stay there! It was a Pig pen. No light bulb in bathroom had to keep door open Shower was always cool little hot water, You need to remove it from your list

The motel is undergoing some renovations that should be disclosed during booking. My suggestion would be to renovate a section at a time instead of dispersed room repairs among guest rooms. Walkways with discarded room materials, trash. cigarette butts, even old car tires in the breezeways and with the ice machine.(which was out in a run down shed). It appears that there are people living in the motel. Only once in 5 days did I get clean towels without having to go to the front desk (which was unmanned in the evening, It had a number to call if you wanted to speak to someone.) Trash was emptied once but there was an overfilled trash can 10 feet from my room door. Almost every electrical device in the room was plugged in to a terminal strip. I worried about it catching on fire every time I turned something on. On a positive note, the elderly lady at the front desk was very nice and when it rained the room didn't leak. I do not know how the place stays in business but that won't concern me. I would rather sleep in my car than waste another dollar there.

I think this hotel was put together for a big race weekend to make some money. many rooms were not ready. our sink didn't work. oddly done room. oddly had full size refridg. and huge tv that wouldn't work because we assume wifi was not good.

Reserved this locations months and months ago. They decided to remodel no rooms were available for us. There was no locks on the door and no electronics worked. We left and went to another hotel. We did not feel safe or respected

First of all website says 1:00 check in got there around 12:00 they told us check in us 3:00 had to drive around for two hours came back around 2:40 they said sorry no room until 3:00 bugs in room floor dirty ac didn’t have vent we never got a remote for our tv so stayed two nights without tv the privacy door to next room wasn’t there the neighbors could of walked right in our front door didn’t latch oh and didn’t have wash rags the first night finally got them 2nd night I complained a lot and they didn’t care I paid cash and want my money back but didn’t get it this hotel exsperience ruined our weekend for sure

We booked this for 4 nights while attending the racing at Talladega. We had a superior room with the jacuzzi bath, Yes, the decor is quite tired, but it was cleaned regularly and the shower pressure was amazing. We knew what to expect when booking and it was absolutely fine for our needs.
