Colonial Inn is always a launching point for our OBX trip. They are affordable and convenient for a Friday night stay on the way further south for a following week. We appreciate that they don’t require a 2 night stay and use them regularly as a result.

The hotel wasn't bad overall. It's definitely an older property and had a bit of a musty smell, but the location makes up for a lot. It's right on the beach with easy beach access, convenient parking, and it's pet-friendly, which was a big plus for us. The pool was nice and clean, and we enjoyed spending time there. If you're looking for a beachfront stay and don't mind an older hotel, this is a decent option.

The property could use some refurbishing, but its location was too notch! Some rooms you could see the waves crashing on the shore. A short walk over the dunes and you’re on the beach. It is also pet friendly. If you’re looking for luxury find a big name. This was fine for what it is. A reasonably priced room on the ocean front-I’d stay again.

The staff friendly a good service. The location is not nearby the center it’s about 2 1/2 miles away the first day I arrived., there were construction work on the beach, after 3 o’clock they stopped. So the next night I could sleep very good. The hotel is clean and for the price good.

The kiosk check-in was a breeze and the room was clean and comfortable. Its an older hotel so the shower is a bit small but manageable. Nothing fancy but had everything you need a stay at the beach. The location is perfect! Would stay again.

This hotel fell far below expectations. The room was dirty, and after one night, they refused to honor my second reservation solely because I live locally. This is unacceptable, and travelers should be aware of how they treat guests.

We were there for one night. Our room had direct access to the beach which was nice. We didn't use the fire pit or pool Staff was pleasant. No issues with parking. We were able to walk to some restaurants. Only issue was the bathroom. It was clean but had issues with shower curtain rod staying up and slow sink drain. Just as we were leaving a staff member was going to room to fix issues.
