Disgusting

I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay. The room was noticeably dirty, and the carpet was so filthy it clearly hadn’t been shampooed in quite some time. The balcony was just as neglected, covered in spider webs, bugs, and dirt, making it completely unusable. What makes this even more disheartening is that I used to work at this hotel when it was under previous ownership, and back then, it was truly top tier, clean, welcoming, and worth every penny. Unfortunately, that standard is long gone. Charging over $200 a night for these conditions is outrageous, especially when nearby budget hotels like the Super 8 are in far better shape. I expected more and left feeling completely let down.

The lodge carpet was filthy, dated, none of the water works were working, food was cold, ravioli appetizers. For the amount of money we spent, I thought it would have been nice, expensive short vacation, I could have traveled to Florida and spent less

We had issues upon arrival with room cleanliness and not the right room. We got upgraded which was nice but then the air conditioning wasn’t working so it was blazing hot most the night in the room. Charges were added to my room that were not ours it’s been a awful Experience

There’s no nice way to say it. Flat out old and gross. I stayed in the main hotel. If it wasn’t for the friendly staff and views. I would rare it overall 1. Needs to be cleaned and updated. I took video of my bed. It didn’t have a fitted sheet and the bed bug protector was ripped( meaning if there were bugs it would not protect me). I spoke to some locals and they all agree it has gone downhill over the years. I come to the lake once a month for work. I felt like I was at the holiday inn express. It maybe better

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom facilities needed repair. Outside curb appeal also needs repair and maintenance. Pool area was nice but temperature was in the 90’s and there were no umbrellas to provide shade for the lounge’s.

This is an old property that shows its age. Formally a premier stay it seems that nothing has been updated, with the exception of multiple coats of paint, to maintain that rating. This is an old resort that looks and feels as old as it is.

Unfortunately this property is suffering from what appears to be longtime deferred maintenance and an uninspired (possibly understaffed) workforce. The resort itself - The carpeted main areas are worn and covered in stains and paint is chipped and worn everywhere. Cracked windows are taped around the indoor pool. The towel laundry bins used by staff, full of what appeared to be clean and folded towels, created a stench in the hallway of mold/mildew. tThe exterior grounds, which you can tell were once beautiful, have nature paths that are now completely cordoned off in areas, taken over by weeds and litter. There was a wasp infestation along one stairwell that made it impassable. Our room - definitely has not been updated for 20 years would be my guess (similar to the entire resort). Our balcony had mismatched plastic lawn chairs and butted up to an adjacent roof with a front row seat to their restaurant ventilation and hvac system (happy to share a photo). The toilet constantly ran, which we shared with the front desk, but went unfixed. The key cards for the doors are magnetic, so have to be inserted into a slot on the door and easily become demagnetized if placed by your phone. The staff - nice enough, however always oversharing about how busy they are and telling you what they can’t do - they don’t make up your room when staying multiple nights - no new towels, removal of garbage, or making the bed. At checkout, you’re charged a $16/night “resort fee”. For what?!?

Hotel for frat boys, not families.

I read reviews that it was a bit outdated and thought that wasn’t a big deal. Huge understatement. This hotel is literally falling apart. Cracked walls, bunched up, smelly carpet, and holes in walls. Our first room had actual vomit on the side of the bed and floor (photo). We were moved to another room that reeked of cigarettes. The third room was fine. Not great, just fine. Saggy mattresses and floor feels grimy. There is no beach access as it is all blocked off with rebar. The nicest thing about this hotel is the “family pool” with a grotto. However, it was insanely crowded at all times, very loud with a dj, and filled with mostly intoxicated adults and unsupervised kids jumping all over other people. Tried the further smaller pool and there were a group of ladies chain smoking cigarettes in the pool, despite the no smoking sign, and another group under the only shaded table smoking something else quite distinguishable. The indoor/outdoor pool is nice though crowded and it has a large hot tub. Overall, it’s a frat boy hotel, not family friendly, and I would not stay here again.

I’d visit again

Met up with a friend for a 3 day weekend. We spent our time at the adult pool chilling. I liked the retro vibe of the lodge. Our room was fine for what we needed. Wasn’t excited about the on site food options, so we did head to town for two dinners. Had a LOVELY time at the spa. Even though a few of the areas need updating, overall things were good. I would go back.

Started rocky, but ended up great

We did not have the best experience when checking in. However, we did receive some compensation when that occurred. We were shown the way to our room and when we got to the building, it was a bit spooky. It was not the best maintained in the outdoor area where you walk to your room. It was not as intimidating in the daylight, but there were still issues with the property outdoors due to wear and tear. The pool and all of the amenities were the favorite part of the hotel by a long shot. We absolutely loved the indoor/outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. Breeze was pretty good too. Even though the check-in experience was not the best, we are willing to come back to the hotel for our next trip down here!

This property has such great potential, it’s a bit sad looking around and seeing what it could be. They stated that they had new owners so hopefully they are able to bring it back to life. The facility is a bit dated, which is fine, when you first walk into the building we were in there is a wall that should have a waterfall on it, like one you would see at Bass Pro, with stagnant water, nothing running, and a bit of trash throughout. You could tell it hadn’t ran in some time, but it appeared they were working on it, though we never saw anyone there. The pools were nice. The restaurant prices were a bit steep, paid $8 for a slice of ham. The overall stay was ok but I doubt we would do it again anytime soon for the price. It was probably a 4 star hotel once upon a time but that was a while ago.

At check-in, we were not told to drive to room. We walked instead. The parking lot is riddled with potholes. Lillianna was outside on break and helped us to our room. There was one handicap ramp, and we had to walk down steps the rest of the way. We FINALLY got to our room, and there were no hangers in the closet. We were in the first of 3 buildings and the only ice was at the other end of the 3rd building, we had to go outside and climb 2 stairwells to get to it. I felt like I got overlooked and all they cared about was my money.
