Basic House

First of all we chose this house because they allowed pets and due to being very close to why we were in Orem. The house is pretty basic. Like others have said, it has a lot of diy fixes and it a little run down. Something we wished we knew is that you CANNOT access the backyard from inside the house. You have to go out the front door and around to the gate. The fence in the yard is very old and missing boards so it’s not by any means secure. Also, there is NO grass in the front or backyard. It’s all dirt and dead weeds. Not a pleasant experience for the pups. Also, the little lean-to built onto the back of the garage is INFESTED with wasps. It was a gamble on whether or not we were getting stung every time the dogs needed to potty because you have to walk right by that area. There was broken glass all over the ground right in front of the gate you have to go through to get to the backyard. If you don’t care about a yard or have pets this house is big, with lots of bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The A/C works very well and it was nice and cool on one of the hottest weekends. The kitchen is pretty basic. There are no coffee mugs, glad we packed our own. Some of the cabinet doors are falling off the hinges so watch out. The house was mostly clean. The bathrooms were very clean. I did have to pick up some food off the floor in the living room and the kitchen. The basement seems to have a bit of a spider issue and we killed quite a few.

I have had wonderful experiences staying at properties in Orem-Provo area, the hosts paid attention to detail and kept their properties in perfect condition and most importantly: clean! Unfortunately my last experience was the complete opposite. As soon as you arrived to the property, the grass and exterior of the home is not maintained and well kept. Once inside, the doors are falling apart, the furniture is damaged (the dining room table has a table cloth to hide the bad shape of the table), to keep the dryer door locked, there is tape already attached to it to keep it from opening, in few words: falling apart. The biggest flaw was hygiene. Underneath the beds we found dust not just from a few days, but months! The basement was even worst! The TV room had a disgusting smelly couch, and rest assured that you won't sleep by yourself in the rooms, there are at least a couple different bugs on each room!Needless to say, I truly hope Airbnb makes inspections or quality control on the properties it advertises, because some of them like this one, are far from a place we will ever stay again! Hopefully next time we visit, the other properties we visited in the past are available, those are the quality we expect and more for the price we pay.

Our stay here

The house was big enough to fit our whole family, which was great, and it was nice having enough beds for everyone. We brought pack n plays for the infants. And it was helpful for them to be able to take naps in a bedroom! The house is just a basic house. Not really a whole lot of extras. But the space was big enough to fit our needs. Like others have said the yard both in front and back are overgrown. And we did have an issue with the water for showers. We communicated with the owner and he said that if it persisted, he'd get someone to look at it. We were there for a short time, but the issue was there the whole time, so I think that will need to be taken care of.I don't think the owner had time to really get someone out to take a look at what the problem could have been. The owner was pleasant enough to communicate with, and so hopefully just the communication will help so that the problem is taken care of. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and it was really close to the freeway and so that made our travels easy.

Lots of room! Decent Price.

We had 2 families and several friends for about 14 people and it was so nice to have all of those bedrooms! The house was pretty basic, but very clean. I almost wanted to go buy some pictures from goodwill and put them on the walls. The bathroom situation was a little tight but doable for that many people. The yard is as not very manicured. Grass looked dead. Would have been nice to have a fire and chairs in the backyard. It said there was a bbq grill so we had food to grill but there was not a grill. The stove didn’t work and we had to fix it ourselves. The dryer door wouldn’t stay closed and we had to buy duct tape to keep it closed. The owner didn’t offer any reimbursement for the stove issue but did offer to reimburse us for the duct tape, but did not end up doing so. The kitchen was open and had all the basics that we needed. It was nice to have the living room to use upstairs as well as the game room downstairs. I understand it recently got new owners or managers so I’m sure it takes a little time to get things fixed and up to par. The price was pretty decent in comparison to others in the area. So all in all we had a good stay and it worked out well for our family. Not luxury, but didn’t kill our pocketbook.

Orem stay

The house was large enough to accommodate our family, each couple had their own room which made it worth the cost. The house is older and a bit run down with a lot of do it yourself fixes. We are a family that likes to cook and eat when we are together and the kitchen ware was very sparse. Had a coffee pot but couldn't find coffee cups. They had a nice media game room but they didnt work very well, don't know if batteries were low or what. The little ones couldn't go out back to play because it was weed grown and dogs barked every time we went out. We stayed three days with the kids coming on the second day and was supposed to stay two days but they only stayed the one night.

Easy access

The property was just a couple streets off the freeway exit, so really easy to access. but not so close that there was any road noise. Overall, decent place to stay. Nothing fancy, but lots of space, clean, no hassle.

Great Stay and Great Communication

We had a great stay. The location has great access to freeway and many local areas. The owner and host were very responsive, helpful, and guest oriented with questions and concerns that we had, preventing any issues we ran into from ruining the trip for us. We would absolutely stay there again.

Great location!

Home is located in good proximity to shopping, food, and anything we had planned for our trip. Neighborhood is older, but fine except for dogs barking all night. Home had many bedrooms and sleeping accommodations, but is kind of run down and roughly finished in places. The large kitchen was nice for meals each day. Overall, this is a decent place to stay but we expected a little nicer conditions for the price.
