It was a great location, our room was spacious and clean with a king-size bed and the view from the window was gorgeous. The staff were all lovely and helpful. The breakfast and the coffee were excellent. Our only negative was that there's no lift.

The hotel was exceptionally quiet, clean, and comfortable. The views from both our southwest and southeast windows were stunning. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. There’s also a small, well-stocked grocery store conveniently located across the street. Parking is limited, but an overflow lot is available within a short 100-meter walk. If you’re arriving by train (Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen Bahnhof), expect about a 10-minute walk to the hotel. Note that there’s no elevator in this two-story property.

Our stay in Obertraunerhof was great! The gentleman who checked us in was very kind and helpful and was always working to make sure guests were satisfied! The rooms were also spacious and it was not far from the train station!

Nice and quiet B & B!!!

Very quiet location. It’s about an hour to walk to Hallstatt but the scenery along the way to Hallstatt is gorgeous. Good breakfast! The only complaint as an Asian is that we could not find hot water to make tea the first night and breakfast did not start until 8am. As an early bird Asian, it’s inconvenient but they put the kettle at common areas on the 2nd night. :)

The room was enormous, but not very clean and so dimly lit that I had trouble reading. Desk clerk showed up at 2 PM to check me in, then disappeared until the following morning. Stairs had worn, ripped carpet. Obertraun is not a good place to stay if your goal is Hallstatt as the first boat to Hallstatt is around 11 AM and the last boat about 4 PM. It's a 5 km walk from Hallstatt to Obertraun. Sidewalks rolled up at 6 PM in Obertraun, so there is nowhere to eat dinner.

God beliggenhed til Hallstatt, men temmelig trist.

Sommer 2019. God beliggenhed i forhold til Hallstatt, vi cyklede derhen fra hotellet (små 5 km), da vi selv havde cykler med, og det er en fordel i forhold til parkeringsvanskeligheder ved Hallstatt, som er bilfri by. Hotellet er meget nedslidt og trist interiør. Senge og sengetøj ok, men vi manglede hovedpudebetræk og håndklæder, da vi havde fået værelset. Ingen sengelamper virkede. Stikkontakter hærget, åbne ind til ledninger, vi turde ikke bruge dem. Bruseren kunne ikke blive hængende øverst, gled konsekvent ned af stangen. Morgenmadsbuffet udvalg og kvalitet ok, men bordet og duge på buffetbordet trængte til udskiftning/rengøring. Et kig ud i køkkenet fra spisestuen kunne godt give lidt tvivl om hygiejnen, det flød med vasketøj på gulvet og så rodet ud. Hotellet lukrerer vist på sin beliggenhed tæt på Hallstatt og Five Fingers, men prisen burde være væsentlig lavere i forhold til kvaliteten af den oplevede service og husets tilstand. Det var ok for os at bo der én overnatning, fordi vi skulle videre, men vi ville ikke vælge det til et længere ophold. Hotellet er måske bedre i vintersæsonen (?)
