Quirky but neat place not for mobility challenged. Great access for walking in town and to restaurants, train and ferry.
Challenge to get the luggage up the twisty stairs but loved the carpet and ambiance.

Great location and amazing staff. Just be prepared to park offsite and carry luggage up stairs. Other than that, the place had an amazing location and we had zero issues with sounds being right above a pub.

Our experience was fabulous from beginning to end. We were able to check in on arrival, and the staff always offer to carry your bags. Property is in a perfect location and we adored the town. Parking is not free but it is reasonably priced and very convenient with the lot being across the street. Wonderful staff! Thank you so much!

The Whisky Vaults is a good choice for accommodations in Oban. It is convenient to restaurants, trains and ferries. Rooms are cozy and beds are comfortable. The building is historic and interesting. The staff is friendly and helpful. Totally charming overall. (Note no elevator but staff will help with luggage.)

Comfortable, central, rooms above pub

We enjoyed our stay here in Oban. The room was very comfortable with a modern bathroom and furnishings. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a treat to have a pub downstairs with 150 bottles of whisky to sample!! The rooms are steps away from train/ bus/ ferry and restaurants. We would highly recommend the Vaults.

Everyone was most accommodating and went out of their way to assist. The nicest touch was the to go breakfast bag placed outside each guests’s door. Would gladly stay there again. It didn’t hurt that Oban is an absolutely beautiful seaside town!

Two nights at the Vaults

Check in was very quick and efficient - I was given a hand up to my room with my bags (& when I checked out as my knees aren’t the best!) - the staircase is gorgeous but there are no lifts for those with significant mobility issues. The room and bathroom were super clean and comfy. Although there was no cooked breakfast around 7:30 there was a little bag with fruit, water, yoghurt and a pastry delivered to the door which was a really nice touch. Was really quiet in the local area - didn’t hear any noise from the rooms or the bar below. Parking was easy in the car park across the street and cost about £13 for 48hrs (ish). My room was ideal for solo trips but know the others are larger to accommodate for couples etc. Central location with several cafes, bars and restaurants within walking distance as well as the train station. Have been visiting Oban for years and will certainly be coming back to the Whisky Vaults if I they have space for me!

Really enjoyed our stay here. It's right in the middle of the main shopping and dining area, and was the perfect location for us. The rooms are clean and comfy, and the staff is very helpful. They don't do breakfast, but give each guest a little goodie bag each morning. The pub downstairs is lively and fun, but not too loud.

Lovely place, quiet and a good size for me with en-suite bathroom. There is an attached pub and beer garden area and a small pub with a stove too. Staff checking us in and pub staff were friendly, helped us order in food and owner told a bit about the renovations and history which hooked me. Only drawback is there is no shared space, waiting or sitting area and no lift. I was glad we booked there and had only one flight to walk!

Warm friendly staff. Great central location. Facility was clean and comfortable. Bedrooms are accessed by spiral staircase only. This was not an issue for us personally, but could be a challenge if you have mobility issues.

The staff and owners could not be nicer. We were in room 9 top floor, no lift, winding tight Harry Potter narrow staircase 3 flights up. Old reclaimed building and a passion project for owners. Floors slanted, sloped ceiling, creaking stairs. All part of being old but if you’re looking for decor and a bit of modern comforts, maybe keep looking. This is more of an experience. Wish them all the best. Best part is how friendly front desk staff was and bar downstairs.

Fantastic little hotel in walking distance to everything in Oban. Street parking right in front of the hotel was available, and the hotels bar had 350 very interesting bottles of Scotch, and a very friendly and knowledgeable bartender. If I come back to Oban, I am booking here again for sure.
