I was visiting Oaxaca for a conference and really appreciated having breakfast starting at 7:30 so I could get to the conference on time. Breakfast was freshly prepared and yummy. The central location of Casa Tía Tere was fantastic. It was within easy walking distance of pretty much anything you would want to do and the staff was very helpful. When I return to Oaxaca, I'll stay there again.

Great accommodation within 10 minutes walk of the centre of the old section of Oaxaca. Its own little paradise with a lovely pool and hearty breakfast. Kitchen available to make tea and coffee. Small market only 3 blocks away. 1 block to a street filled with street art.

Arriving at the hotel is a giant door, push the button to enter. Check in was simple. Only downside, i was given a paper receipt with my credit card number and securoty code on the back, so be aware to scratch that out or not to lose it. The guy gave us a quick tour and how breakfast worked. Showed us the free tea/coffee station. He then gave us our keys and showed us to our rooms. Room was a simple size. Bed was very firm, not comfortable at all. There is a fan and ac. The restroom has a window up by the shower that opens and doesnt close all the way. No one can peek in, but it feels like everyone walking by can hear you. There is a quiet time, and at night all hallway lights are motion sensored which is nice to conserve energy. Toilet struggled a bit with flushing, just do it maybe twice. Breakfast was delicious with two options per morning, including fruit, oatmeal, and cereal. The view over the pool was pleasant as well. The hotel was within walking disntance to the center and zocalo area. Felt safe and fairly quiet. Would reccomend overall.

nice property, Almost a 4 star

This was our second stay, and we very much liked the property. the staff is very helpful and kind, the building is go and the pool very nice. It would be a four star for the price if.. the beds were more comfortable, the wifi very unpredictable and the lighting (of things) should be looked at. Bare light bulbs, and wooden baskets as lamp shapes just don’t cut it. The breakfast served daily on the terrace is very nice, they do a great job, many choices and cooked to order.

A good hotel in a walkable location to the historic centre. The pool was fabulous and gave much needed respite from the intense heat. Breakfast was also included in my room rate. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful chill hotel

The hotel was a gem. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous and a wonderful place to relax after a hot day exploring Oaxaca. Close enough to walk to the main attractions but on a very quiet street away from the chaos. Clean rooms, helpful service. I would definitely stay here again.

The property itself was very nice. The pool needs more attention. It didn't look very clean or well maintained. We had an issue with a front desk staff, Diego. He booked an excursion for us only to forget to tell the excursion company which created a lot of angst for myself and my companion. So much so, that my friend had a severe panic attack due to non communication from Diego. Other than that, the property is very well located. Walking distance to everything.
