Really nice place on the lake. The place is small but uses space well. It had a modern update and was well stocked. Host was nice and responsive. Beds and bedding was soft and comfortable. We came up for skiing for NYE but will be will be back in the summer.

This is our third time at this house, and second time with this owner/host. The place is adorable and perfect for our small family, and its in a great location in Oakland with wonderful waterfront. Its better than the pics. The host is one of the best we've had via VRBO (we rent houses about 4-5 times a year). Beds are super comfy and the kitchen has anything you need. Highly recommend!

Beautiful property! So many small details to make the stay nicer and easier. Comfortable beds with beautiful bedding. Paddle board and kayaks with life jackets for lots of fun! The host was so accommodating and pleasant. Hope to make it a yearly trip!

The best vrbo we have stayed at. Super clean, awsome host, great location. Most well stocked kitchen ever. All the little details that matter were thought of throughout the entire home. Our favorite thing to do was a fire outside every night. Thank you for the firewood and sharing your home with our family

Lake Getaway

My husband, girls (11 and 13), and I loved our vacation to Deep Creek Lake at Lakeside Cottage! Sandra was the ultimate host; the home was clean, well-stocked, luxurious, cozy, and beautiful. Top notch bedding, sheets, kitchen utensils... everything you would need! Along with the thoughtful welcome gifts, she even gave us a little itenerary of places to eat and things to do for our specific rental dates; which as a busy working mom with little time to plan was so very appreciated and helpful! We enjoyed many hours on the private floating dock fishing and boat/people watching and at the fire pit laughing and enjoying the view. When we did pull ourselves away from the comfy cottage we enjoyed the downtown shopps, so many restaurants, hiking, and jetskis rentals! One of our best trips yet, and definitely one of the best rentals we've had. If my pre-teen girls are impressed, then you know its good. Cant recommend enough, would love to come back and enjoy Lakeside Cottage again. Thank you!!

One of the most Memorable Vacations!!

Our stay was July 12 thru July 17 2025.. Mom, Dad, 2 sons, daughter in-law, future daughter in law and our precious granddaughter. We were celebrating Dads 60th and granddaughters 1st birthdays. The house was perfect in every way. My family was so comfortable, it felt like home. The property was so nice and the view was picture perfect looking at the lake. My sons caught fish every day and we all swam, floated, paddle boarded and kayaked off the dock in the clear beautiful water. We rented a pontoon boat for 2 days and enjoyed wake boarding, swimming off the boat and floating on tubes. We took the boat to a restaurant for a lake side lunch then boated over for some ice cream and even picked up donuts by boat for the morning. We ventured into town to the farmers market to pick up fresh veggies and homemade jam to take home. The weather was great with just a little rain but we had board games to pass the time. We had camp fires every night, lots of laughs, a few s’mores and just good family time. My grand daughter who is 11 months old took her first steps on the back deck which was witnessed by all. Priceless!! We took great family photos and will have cherished memories for a life time. Thank you to our host family for sharing your beautiful home with my family. Thank you for your beautiful and thoughtful gift basket to help us celebrate the big birthdays. Best Host and Lake House ever for a Great Family Vacation!!! PCM Greenlawn N.Y.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Cottage! Communication with owner was very responsive. We had 7 adults and we all fit nicely. It’s on a nice quiet street and not more than 10 minutes to anything you’d want to do or need. We received a very nice welcome pack with stuff for smores, coffee etc. Everything in the house looks brand new and was super clean. It was well stocked with everything you need. The view from the deck and fire pit was great. Plenty of chairs for everyone. We rented a boat for a few days which was well worth the price to navigate the lake and tube. When we come back to this beautiful lake we will stay here again!!

Perfect Getaway

I stayed here for a long weekend with my husband and 4 year old son and we had such an amazing time. The location is perfect to several restaurants, activities, and shops. The views of the lake and the waterfront at this house are beautiful. The walk from the house to the lake is short and level. If you're into fishing, my husband was super successful right off the dock and shore here. The house itself is cozy and updated. I've stayed at many VRBO rentals and none have the amount of amenities and special touches as this place. The owners thought of pretty much everything, and they were very responsive even though they were out of the country during our stay. The only complaint we have were that the living room couches were a bit small for my 6'2" husband, but that won't stop us from coming back. My son didn't want to leave! We will definitely be back again and again.

This place was incredible

My family came to deep creek lake and I stumbled on this gem of a property! We booked this place and the owner was so accommodating answering all our questions. When we got there, the place was so beautiful!! It was centrally located and all the accommodations we needed in a home. We felt like we were at home! We will be definitely booking again very soon!

Almost Heaven

We live in “Almost Heaven, West Virginia” and we’ve decided that Lakeside Cottage is “Almost Heaven, Maryland!” Let’s start with the view….unbeatable! We didn’t have the best weather week, but truly for us it didn’t diminish our stay at all. Who could be disappointed looking out at the lake and trees just steps from the cottage. We were warm, comfy, and cozy while it rained and yes, snowed outside. From the moment we walked in, we felt comfortable and cared for. The hosts are amazing at trying to anticipate every need a visitor might need. The special gift basket was an extra plus! Communication with our hosts was great and actually they went above and beyond coming to our rescue when the battery in our car was dead upon check-out. We can’t tell you how much that meant to us. Lakeside Cottage is a special place. A place of peace, refreshment, and beauty. We hope to be back next year but if not, we have taken wonderful memories with us.

Not the weekend we expected

We started our weekend with rainy weather. It turned stormy. We eventually lost power. our host stayed in contact with us and tried her best to help us navigate the situation. We eventually had to leave early because of no running water. However, they gave us a full refund. We were disappointed that it wasn’t the trip we wanted. But our host made a challenging situation a little more bearable. Thank you for all you did. I would consider staying at this property in the future.

the property was as described, if not better. from the location to the lake, amenities, welcome gift, cleanliness and location to restaurants, parks, market, etc, this had it all. the kitchen is well stocked with space to gather for cooking, games or just talking with a group. everything we needed was already there so much more than other properties we've rented. the owner was quite responsive. it felt like home. we very much enjoyed our stay!

My 64th birthday w my family @ Deep Creek Lake

Everyone was thrilled with the location, cleanliness, comfort and supplies. Paddle board, kayaks, tubes beautiful dock, outdoor fire pit, well stocked indoor kitchen. Sandy was an amazing host. Flowers and card for my birthday. Snacks, smores and fabulous communicator. 5 stars all around. We will most certainly be back.
