Decent

Everybody at this hotel is Italian. Also the guards will come up and talk to you all the time when you are trying to read and relax in the beach chairs. Further this area is super touristy and it gets really annoying when everyone is trying to sell you something or trying to get you to take a tour with them.

avoid at all costs...

Avoid at all costs!!! Although I was fretted well at reception I was also greeted by a cockroach running across the floor of my room as soon as I entered... It gets worse. It was late I was tired and given the area immediately outside the hotel it was NOT safe to leave the hotel at night. I had no option but to eat in the hotel 'restaurant', a filthy, barren dull shell. I went directly to to a counter where there was a lonely young waitress. I was immediately greeted again by several cockroaches running across the counter and the waitress before I had a chance to run she opened a menus for me and a large cockroach ran out from it.... What amazed me even more was the fact that the young waitress saw nothing wrong with this!!!! Hotels.com please remove this hotel from your list.

Overall good

Good place, big, good room, nice pool and good location! Shower was cold always. Dinner at their restaurant was ok, but after i got sick, stomachaches and vomits..not if its was their food but only started after dinner there, i was staying in other places on the island and was fine! Manager understood upr situation and gave a discount on the price..! Good wifi! But only close to reception, dont work on the rooms..

lovely pool

and that's about it. it is run-down and needs help. the pool area is lovely as are the grounds but the rooms are just minimum. towels have stains on them and the beds are so hard. now about the food....some of the worse i had while on zanzibar.

Never felt welcome.

For starters, the hotel is aesthetically lovely, with great restaurant views of the beach and the stunning northern coast of Zanzibar. It is walkable from Kendwa and Nungwi (tide depending) which both have lovely restaurants and have a very relaxing vibe. That is where the positives end. The hotel staff were not welcoming, and especially not caring. One of my friends was electrocuted in her shower. That, as unacceptable as that is, is not it. She went and told the hotel manager about it, and was rudely told without any compassion to go back to her room and wait for someone to come. Noone did. On the second time of asking, she was treated like she was lying. This is not what we expect when we go on holiday. Another problem with the hotel is that it is totally catered for Italians, which if you do not speak the language, leaves it very difficult to enjoy the environment. Music at night and karaoke are not enjoyable when only catered for one language and one nationality, especially in a multi-cultured place such as Zanzibar.

Got there and had to wait an hour to check in. Room was large but mostly empty. lots of bugs in room and bed, broken shower head, power and water shut off a couple times. AC worked well when the electricity wasn't out. When we checked out they wanted an extra 50/night for our third person in our room, which was fine, but said their CC machine was down an could only take cash. There are no atms nearby but they took us to a nearby place that will give you cash on a 10% commission charge. After much arguing the hotel agreed to cover 5% and let us pick up the other 5%. a nice enough place to stay with a great beach, but for the amount they are charging its unacceptable.

Nungwi beach is great for swimming all day long

We went after the hotel reopened for high season so there were several maintenance issues with the property & our room but we weren't bothered because we paid a low season rate. And, while we were there, many of these issues were taken care of as they ramped up operations. The buffets were nice although dinner started late for our toddler so we went next door to the Nungwi Inn & North up the beach to WAVES (our favorite restaurant in Nungwi). The room is large & basic with an air conditioner & fan (both of which we reported needing maintenance after our departure), small refrigerator, good closet/shelf space & a nice quantity of bath towels. The best part is the staff who are all so friendly from housekeeping, to watchmen, to restaurant to pool staff to management and even the PHONE & GO people. This is a hotel frequented by Italians, which we enjoy as Italy is our favorite country to visit. The resort is very large but all the rooms will have an ocean view except for the ones (family rooms) in the back. The restaurant is right over the ocean and you can watch the local fisherman at work during breakfast. There is a fabulous pool and we really enjoyed the delicious Friday night African dinner which was set up around the pool with lovely candle-lit tables and flowers. Improvements would be to have the rooms in tip top shape and a few more beach chairs. We had a lovely time & will return again. Excellent value & amenities for the price we paid.

Fin beliggenhet men dårlig vedlikeholdt

Hotellet ligger fint ved stranden og har også en flott swimming pool. Betjeningen var hyggelig og imøtekommende og gjorde sitt beste, men det var mye som ikke fungerte. Man kunne ikke bruke kredittkort der, noe som ikke var opplyst på forhånd. Det var noen få restauranter i nærheten man kunne spise på, der de aksepterte kredittkort, da med 5% tillegg på regningen. I hotellets egen restaurant kunne man ikke få regningen skrevet på rommet og betale under ett, men man måtte kjøpe kuponger i receptionen. Rommene var meget enkelt møblerte, på mitt første rom ( jeg måtte bytte rom pga at strømmen ikke fungerte på badet og det kom bare hett vann ) var det store fuktskader på veggene, på det andre var slangen til dusjhodet ødelagt, ingen håndklær når jeg kom, ikke vann på flaske, ikke hårføner, ikke vannkoker, ikke toalettartikler unntatt en såpe etc, som man forventer på et **** hotell. Internett ved receptionen, men ikke på rommene.

Bodde her i fire netter. Selve hotellområdet er veldig fint, og masaiene som jobber der er veldig søte og behjelpelige! Nærområdet er helt perfekt! De hadde ikke bookingen vår da vi kom, måtte vente på en sjef som jeg måtte snakke med i telefonen.. Rommene ble jeg litt skuffet over, de hadde ikke satt inn nok senger, det var ikke helt rent, og ikke noen koselige rom, vi hadde familierom. Frokosten var helt OK, men ventet leenge på varmmat! En dag hadde de ikke smør, og skjønte ikke hva jeg snakket om da jeg spurte etter det. Det går mye i italiensk her, og vi slet med å betale med shilling selv om det er den lokale valutaen (!). Prisene står oppført i Euro (!), noe jeg syns er helt latterlig da man er i Tanzania. Da vi ville betale med shilling hadde de ikke vekslepenger osv.. MEN: nydelig område, strand osv, dårlige rom (familierom). Servicen er ikke helt på topp, foruten masaiene som var helt nydelige og snille :)

Pri prichode do hotela som sa zlakla kam som sa to dostala, ale nakoniec to nebolo az take zle. Izba akurat na prespatie. Klima sice ukazovala 18 stupnov, ale nechladila. Kupelka spolocne so zachodom nic moc, ale dalo sa to prezit. Okolie hotela je krasne, s pristupom na plaz. Hotel ma aj bazen, ale nevyuzila som ho. V cene bol ranajkovy bufet, ale maly vyber jedal a len niektore boli chutne. Lepsie je stravovat sa mimo hotela. Security na hoteli robia masajovia, ktory sa nudia a chcu sa stale rozpravat, tak ako vsetci miestny ;).

תלונה חמורה על ההזמנה כולה

שלום לכם כפי שאתם יודעים ואף הזכרתם לי יומיים לפני, הזמנתי את המלון הזה :baobab beach resort at Nungwi beach Zanzibar לקחתי מונית לשם שעלתה לי 60$ וכשהגעתי לשם אמרו לי שהמלון סגור!!! והודיעו לי שאני צריך לנסוע למלון אחר בצד שני של האי שלא רציתי להיות שם.עלה לי עוד 60$ להגיע לשם היות ולא דאגו לי להסעה! לא הייתה לי ברירה ונסעתי למלון השני ושם הייתי במקום ובחוף שלא רציתי להיות בו היות וכל מטרתי הייתה להיות באותו חוף שבו הזמנתי.האם לא ידעתם שהמלון סגור? למה לא דואגים להודיע לפני? ומדוע לא מממנים את ההסעה לפחות? אם הייתי יודע הייתי מבטל וזממין מלון אחר באותו חוף!!!

soggiorno dal 24 settembre al 1 ottobre 2014 - prigionieri del villaggio: un camion è stato posizionato ad impedirne l'accesso e il cancello saldato - tagliata la corrente elettrica e di conseguenza l'acqua, fornite da un generatore solo alcune ore durante la giornata - camere inadeguate alle 4 * - biancheria usurata e non sempre pulita - cibo insufficiente - personale di direzione inesistente

Forfærdeligt ophold!!!

Hotellets port var i stykker så det startede med, at vi måtte gå langs stranden med vores kufferter.. Derefter kunne manageren ikke finde vores bestilling men efter 20 min. fik vi et værelse. Beskidt, og med en hel bestand af myrer på terrassen som gik ind under døren på værelset også ... I 3 nætter havde vi hverken strøm eller vand samt det halve af dagen, og morgen i de 3 dage.. Dvs ingen vand at vaske sig i og den aircondition vi havde betalt for, virkede selvfølgelig heller ikke. Bælgmørkt udenfor og dermed umuligt at finde sit værelse medmindre man var udstyret med en lommelygte. Manageren var ligeglad og prøvede blot at bortforklare dette med, at sådan var det bare i Afrika. Trods vi kunne se, at samtlige andre hoteller havde strøm.

Tutto bene zona perfetta e la sera si può girellare per altri locali e ristoranti passeggiando sulla sabbia perché c'è bassa marea. Camere standard con odore di muffa ma bagno ok. Spazi circostanti ottimi.

INADEGUATO MA CON UN OTTIMO POTENZIALE

la struttura è davvero potenzialmente la migliore della zona di nungwi ma molti aspetti negativi rendono questo albergo davvero inadeguato nel rapporto qualità prezzo. La struttura ha bisogno di una rimodernata e di una ristrutturata come si deve, si vede da subito che sono decenni che non viene speso un soldo nella riqualificazione e nel ripristino di tutto quanto sta letteralmente cadendo a pezzi. Ho prenotano 2 settimane e ho dovuto cambiare camera 3 volte. La prima presentava un muro che come ti appoggiavi si scrostava tutto, un frigobar completamente pieno di ruggine e la muffa che aveva colorato le pareti di verde. (i vestiti puzzavano di muffa). la seconda aveva le finestre che non si aprivano, l'acqua calda che non c'era e la pressione della stessa insufficente. In regalo e in sostituzione per i difetti mi è stata data una camera superior che in teoria doveva essere migliore ma anche qua niente da fare. Ho preferito smettere di lamentarmi e sebbene la mia tariffa era di 80 euri al giorno ho deciso di tenermi il pacchetto così com'era e godermi quel poco di buono che la struttura offriva. Ho visto lo shampoo e i prodotti da bagno 2 giorni su 15. ancora meno per le due bottigliette d'acqua gratuite che mi sono state date solo 1 giorno su 15. (non scherzo). Vorrei dare solo un consiglio; Investite qualche soldo nel risistemare il tutto perchè il posto merita davvero, così come i beach boys presenti fuori dalla spiaggia che sono la vera anima del posto.

Perfect and beautiful location

Supernice, big and beautiful hotel area close to the beach, and activiteties. The local staff is also very nice and cleaning was good. BUT if you are not an Italian or speak Italian, the people in the reception does not care much about you. Their service left a lot to wish for and they did not contribute to my otherwise positive experience of the hotel. Go down to the beach during sunset and play beachvolleyball with the locals or just light a fire, have a beer and watch them play soccer at the beach.

Dobra jakośc w jeszcze lepszej cenie

Pobyt był bardzo udany. Dobre i obfite śniadania. Codziennie posprzątane pokoje bez łaski. Pokój rodzinny był bardzo duży.
