Since there was no parking, we parked at the Victoria Shopping Center, less than a 10 minute walk. The hotel interior was old and beautiful 0ur room was fantastic and large. The staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was also good. We would stay there again.

Please accept this as a constructive critique. The Mercure Nottingham City Center has a lot going for it, such as a friendly staff and a great location. That said, the property itself is in need of some improvements. I stayed in Room 502, and the hot water pressure was often so low that it wouldn’t trigger the shower switch; the is my main issue with the property.

Old & Dated - doesn't look like the pictures

Another example of a hotel group posting pictures on their website when the rooms were newly refurbished - I would say that must have been 15 - 20 years ago. The rooms are nothing like they look on the pictures. Carpets are really old and don't look like they've been cleaned for years. The decor is extremely old - like your Nannnas furniture. The bathrooms are clean, but are also old and dated - so they don't FEEL clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and did move me to a different room after my initial feedback - but it was just a slightly bigger room in the same condition. The room facilities didn't get replenished (tea, coffee), so that just added insult to injury. This is part of the bigger "Accor" group of hotels - they should be ashamed of letting this hotel fall into such disrepute. Not worth the money I had to pay to stay here - If I'd paid £60 per night included VAT I wouldn't mind - at least I'd know what I was getting

This hotel is in the heart of the city surrounded by lots of great restaurants and shops. Close to the castle and everywhere was walkable. Friendly helpful staff and a clean comfortable room.

Room 314

Be careful which room you book! Room 314 is like a couple of broom cupboards. It was awfully small and poorly maintained. It was clean, however. No space to walk.around the bed without knocking the wall mointed tv. Bed was uncomfortable....not all lights in room and bathroom worked. Shower is for very very small people only! Not a normal Mecure standard room at all....more akin to Ibis budget.

One of my go to Nottingham hotels

This hotel is really good although if wanting the best experience I would recommend the premium room or higher as the standard rooms won't be the best but still acceptable for a hotel especially the oldest in Nottingham. I had a standard room this time and wasn't happy with it so I asked for an upgrade was willing to pay the extra cost but the amazing staff let me have a premium room for no extra cost which was great. Breakfast is good the staff are very polite and there's lots of food choice available. The TVs in the hotel are extremely dated and the universal remotes can be fiddely but this doesn't bother me too much. Hotel internet is impressively fast with 100Mbps download and around 130Mbps upload allowing you to connect your own devices and watch movies, stream, work or whatever with ease. The one complaint I will make which isn't really a complaint was I ordered some food with deliveroo but quickly realized we didn't have any cutlery so I called reception asked for some forks and they said they'd be right up but nobody came (I ended up using the already provided spoons to eat my curry as it was late and I didn't want to cause anymore of a fuss). Overall its a great hotel experience and I'll be sure to checkout the bar next time I stay here. If you're looking for one of the cheapest stays with a great experience this is the hotel for you.
