Casa Nautilo grew from a desire to create a home that complements the unspoiled beauty of Nosara, and where the silence is broken only by the sounds of the surf and birdsongs. The property, situated on a small ridge 200 meters from the beach called for design elements that would capture the ocean breeze and take full advantage of the uninterrupted views of the ocean. The quiet, private Guiones Beach Club offers the ideal location for a home that promises to provide its guests with true indoor-outdoor living at the edge of the jungle and at the lip of the ocean.
Costa Rica’s natural wonders surround you at Casa Nautilo. The sun rises through the jungle to the east, pasture land stretches towards the hills to the south, and to the west, the sun sets over the ocean filling the horizon with ever-changing hues which can be seen from every room in the house or while cooling off in one of the two infinity pools. 100 meters away a private path leads to the most secluded stretch of Playa Guiones where the tide pools beckon. A short walk northward leads you to the town’s shops, cafes, and restaurants.
Casa Nautilo is two homes: the 4- bedroom Casa and the Casita (which is not rented at the moment). The main house sleeps 10 comfortably.
The Main House has 3 master bedrooms with en-suite baths. The north upstairs bedroom (Cielo) is connected through a shared bathroom to an adjoining bedroom (Coco) which sleeps 4 (one queen bed and one bunkbed). The south master bedroom (Margarita) features a glass shower and a large soaking tub with views of the ocean. The main floor master bedroom (Azul) has sliding doors opening to the deck and pool. The master bedrooms can accommodate either twin or king beds. The master suites have large decks for lounging, quiet and efficient ceiling fans, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors and screens allowing for cooling ocean breezes.
The central thatched roof “rancho” that flows to the large deck and infinity pool offers a gathering place for indoor-outdoor lounging, and entertaining. A floating spiral staircase made of local Guanacaste wood leads to a breezeway overlooking both the rancho and the ocean and leads to the upstairs bedrooms. Both homes have private outdoor showers and ample seating and lounging areas for afternoon siestas and star gazing. The kitchen offers all of the modern conveniences and a large island for morning and evening gatherings.
Casa Nautilo is committed to encouraging practices in line with efforts to provide a sustainable future for Nosara. We use only organic and environmentally friendly herbicides, fertilizers, and cleaning materials. Our glass-bottled bath products are organic and biodegradable. We have made an effort to enable easy recycling and encourage composting of raw food waste. We encourage all of our guests to consider the environment in their use of water, electricity, and personal products.

Construction
We are currently offering a discounted rate already applied since Nosara is a rapidly growing community and we have seen a lot of construction projects pop up lately. This is also the case around this house. Multiple construction projects are going on nearby. Unfortunately, the projects themself are out of our control. However, we just want you to be aware of this before you book so you can consider this. Please reach out to us for more information!

While Costa Rica does have many of the conveniences you are accustomed to having at home, navigating a foreign country can feel a bit tricky. For that reason, we’re here to help curate your experience and itinerary to be the best it can be. From booking surf lessons and ATV tours to arranging your rental car or shuttle, to organizing your private chef and massages, we’re here for you.
Security
Nosara is absolutely a wonderful community and we can't wait to share all the good things that it has to offer. We care a great deal about our clients and for that reason, we also want to make you aware of one of the véry few downsides to Nosara: petty theft (they usually are out for your cash and your belongings as in any other tourism area). We would like to understand the dynamics of the group, so we can take care of you, put you in the right house and downsize the chance of you having any issues with this. Please feel free to inquire for more information. If not included, the property manager can arrange a dinner guard at an additional cost. The guest is responsible for securing and protecting their personal belongings and valuables left in and around the Property and for ensuring that all security features available are enabled every time they leave the Property.
Internet and Electricity
In the jungle, the utility infrastructure is unpredictable. There may be power, phone, and/or internet outages and interruptions in service. The Guest should not leave electronics plugged in during rainstorms. There is no guarantee that the Internet will always work. We have an excellent mobile phone signal with Kolbi and data rates are very reasonable. If internet access is always crucial, we encourage you to bring an unlocked phone and get a Kolbi SIM card.
Water
During the dry season months of December through April, the Property may have low water pressure due to temporary or scheduled water outages. We will do our best to notify Guests of any interruptions in water service or regularly scheduled water shut-offs.
Jungle creatures
We make every effort to present a well-cleaned home for your arrival. However, it is a jungle out there and nature can move in at any time. The Homeowners and Property Manager are not responsible for the fumigation or removal of insects that may enter the Property during the Guest's stay. Even though the house is regularly fumigated on a maintenance schedule, expect to see ants, beetles, spiders, and other assorted insects year-round. Bugs are especially active during the rainy season, May through November. Every effort is made to present a clean home at Check-In. To minimize the impact of bugs on your vacation, please keep food wrapped, store it in the refrigerator, clean kitchen counters and screen doors closed at all times (particularly at night).
Refunds
No refunds will be given for natural disasters, water outages, internet outages, security breaches, personal property losses, or nearby construction noise. This area is a rapidly growing community. There is no guarantee there will not be construction nearby.
Insurance
We encourage all Guests to purchase Traveler Insurance in case of unforeseen circumstances, accidents, or other issues that may prohibit Guests from travelling or fulfilling Rental terms.
