Great stay at this traditional Japanese hotel! Property is older but clean and kept in good condition. Staff is excellent. They go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of during your stay such as booking your shuttle each morning for drop off / pick-up from town, breakfast and dinner times. The room was a basic Japanese style tatami room. Unfortunately there was no elevator to the second floor, although the hotel staff did help with carrying the bags up to the room. Location and price were OK because we were coming by car.

Above and Beyond Service

The staff goes really out of their way for their guests. We missed the last shuttle of the day from the train station to the hotel. We decided to walk, since we also missed the last bus. When we were walking, a van pulls over to the side of the road: it was the shuttle, which was sent out to get us, without us even asking! The amount and quality of the food served is incredible! Plenty of variety, with everything plated and served by incredibly polite and attentive staff.

It was a very exciting experience for my family. Staffs were welcoming , food was impressive . It has shuttles to/from Tobu Nikko/JR Nikko and could drop you off to Toshogu in the morning . If you have Nikko pass, you will be fine without rental car.
