Beautiful Lake House w/ Private Pier & Dock, Kayaks, Fishing + Crabbing Gear

Located just 30 minutes from NOLA, Island Girl II is an incredibly special lakeside retreat. Our cheerful 3-BD/2-BA lake house is smartly styled with a modern coastal theme, has bright and airy social areas, comfortable bedrooms, and fantastic outdoor living spaces. Kayaks, fishing & crabbing gear are provided for use on our private pier and dock that sits directly on Lake Catherine. Smart TVs, Wi-Fi, 2 BBQ grills, pro fishing guides and more – we have everything you need for an amazing time!

Inside the home we have a large, modern kitchen with upgraded stainless-steel appliances, a prep island, and dining table for 6 – a perfect space for fish fries and crab boils! Open sightlines from the kitchen to the family living area are an entertainer’s dream, and the outdoor covered patio right off this space was made for lazy days enjoying nothing but free time on the lake. Plan on grilling the catch of the day out here on the propane grill then dining alfresco at our outdoor table with gorgeous lake views as your backdrop.

After spending a long day on the lake, there are 3 beautifully styled bedrooms waiting for you that comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. Sleeping accommodations are as follows:

Bedroom 2 – Queen bed
Bedroom 3 – Two twin beds

Outdoor living down by the lake at Island Girl II is amazing, too! Our private pier and dock are the ideal place to fish, crab and soak up some rays when not out in our kayaks on Lake Catherine. Below the home is an additional paved outdoor living space with a charcoal BBQ grill, fish cleaning station, shady picnic spot, and hose for rinsing off.

Bringing your own boat? Easy – launch it at Island Marina just down the road then drive along the shoreline to our pier where you can tie off. And they don’t call this area fisherman’s paradise for nothing! Wrigley’s marina is a very convenient 3 minutes away and they sell live shrimp. We also have great recommendations for local, professional fishing guides to maximize your sporting time on the water. Be sure to inquire if you are interested.

Staying at Island Girl II provides the best of both worlds with a location just 30 minutes from New Orleans and the MS Gulf Coast. Spend the days/nights enjoying the parties, parades and casinos then head back to Island Girl for a relaxing and quiet stay away from the excitement.

Beautiful home and perfect size for our family. The dock was awesome. Kids enjoyed catching a variety of fish and an abundance of crabs. About 45 minutes from the city with the bridge out but definitely worth the little farther drive. It supposed to reopen soon I believe. Swamp tour just 5 minutes down the road was great as well. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Island Girl II was a GOOD CAMP Very clean , beds comfortable , Great view of LAKE CATHERINE .Laurie,host was great, easy to contact if needed. Has all that you need. Slidell only 10-15 min away. New Orleans , French quarter , Garden district only a 40 min drive . Just a suggestion, go to Kenny’s Seafood get some boiled crabs , boiled shrimp, crawfish(season) go back to camp sit out on back deck , take in view of Lake Catherine enjoying your crabs, shrimp and crawfish . That’s what it’s like to be a native of LAKE CATHERINE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN .. THANK YOU LAURIE.

Our family had a wonderful stay here in March 2026. The host communicated quickly. The house was exactly as described, was clean and the kitchen had everything you would need. We used the crabbing gear and caught 4 crabs. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching boats pass by, the sun rise, and enjoyed the scenery. This was a great place to stay and would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

Perfect get away. House was everything we had hoped it would be. All you need is your clothes. They had everything else. The dock and pier were in excellent shape. We were able to dock our boat there the whole time. Would highly recommend staying there.

Trying Crabbing

First off the place has just about everything you need to get fishing and crabbing minus the bait, bait shops very close. Day fish, night fish right from the pier. We didn’t have any luck catching any fish, but we caught enough crabs to have a boil for the 3 of us. Don’t forget to look in the open closets and cabinets etc… because if you need it, it’s probably already there. We enjoyed our stay. Happy Crabbers.

Best fishing vacation with no fish ever!

The Island Girl 2 is a beautiful home right on Lake Catherine. Everything you could need or want, beautifully maintained, with excellent communication by the owner. We brought the grands & the boat for Spring Break and spent our time on Lake Catherine & Lake Pontchatrain not catching any fish but what a great time we had. We boiled crawfish on the spacious downstairs patio, bar-b-qued & ate on the beautiful deck overlooking the lake.The whole house was very clean and very comfortable with every thing needed to cook all our meals right there at the house. Plenty of room for the 5 of us to spread out & not feel crowded.Because of the weather/wind we weren't able to dock the boat at the house the entire time but were able to dock it for lunch & potty breaks while out on the lake during the days. We tried night fishing at the end of the pier but, again, the weather made the lake very muddy so no fish. Still not complaining though.Would definitely visit again and recommend this beautiful camp to anyone looking to get away from it all. Ten Stars!!
