On arrival we could not see anyone at the car park entrance so went underground to park. A man then followed us down and was very rude, demanding to know what we were doing. He eventually accepted that we were staying in the hotel but then told my husband to not take up 2 spaces (one tyre was on the yellow parking line but was next to a no-parking zone). Reception was chilly, no smile or pleasant greeting. Don't get me started on the lifts! I applaud having to use an electronic card to access the lift and the room but my husband had to go to reception 4 times to have it "re-programmed" as it would not operate the lift and then, this morning prior to leaving, the card would not open the room door. As for breakfast...if we had eaten towards the end of service I could understand but we ate within an hour of the start of service hoping to enjoy a hot breakfast. Bacon, mushrooms, baked beans, fried egg, scrambled egg all stone cold, not just luke warm, cold! Fortunately the room was clean and the bed comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water with good pressure, however bath towels would only have wrapped around a child or size zero model. The staff look miserable, only saw two smiles during our entire visit. We will not stay there again, which is a shame as the location of the hotel is ideal for visiting the town.
