The place was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and extremely polite. We had dinner that night, and the food and service were excellent. Would surely be a place that I could back to visit.

Lovely Historic Inn

The Monmouth Inn was wonderful. Friendly staff also recommended restaurants and historic sites to visit. The room was wonderful with great amenities and a whirlpool tub that was a surprise since the room itself was furnished with antiques and a gorgeous 4 poster canopy bed. Loved my stay and enjoyed the gourmet breakfast which was included with the cost of the room.

Anniversary Weekend

Pros: Surroundings and room. The beds are extremely comfortable.
Cons: Front desk staff needs work. When they realized I booked through Travelocity, she acted like I was paying for our room with food stamps.
This was not our first stay with Monmouth. However, it was our first time to book them using Travelocity. The price was comparable to what we paid with direct booking but the service wasn't. I can't even count the number of times I was told we booked with Expedia - and I corrected and said Travelocity. It was almost as if they felt offended that we used a booking site instead of contacting them directly. The check-in down to the room attendant all had a significant change in attitude from our other stays. I guess if this had been our first stay we wouldn't have noticed so much. Other than attitude, the actual home is beautiful. The gardens are perfect. The rooms have antiques, but the cleanliness is immaculate. Monmouth is charming and a must-see.

Nice historic inn

I have been to Monmouth before in times past. This past visit was nice as usual. The grounds were beautiful & the staff was hospitable and gracious as always. The area of the property I stayed in (unit 43) needs a bit of updating. The shower stall is too small with little room to turn around & has no lighting inside making it difficult to see. Also, when a neighboring room turns on their water, it causes noticeable hot temperature spikes in the shower. All in all, I would recommend the property provided you aren't in this room.

Beautiful old south atmosphere

Pros: Restaurant 1818 is certainly the best memories that we will keep. Garden, House are very nice as well.
Cons: Please do not bring customer when Room renovation is not complete and smell Humidity.
Location: Visit other old proprieties in the City, Drive on the Natchez Trace. Historic spots all around
Nice propriety with the flavor of the old South. A good place for a retreat weekend. People are very nice, service at the Bar and Restaurant top. For Restaurant atmosphere and deco I will give a 5 stars The Food is extremely well done, not many place like this in Mississippi. We enjoy walking in the park and spend time around the water. unfortunately avoid Room 35 for now...Wait complete renovation!
