A family of 3 stayed in the Deutches Eiche for 10 days in August. More than enough room in their standard room. Fantastic location if you want to walk everywhere. Right down from the markets and lovely boutique shopping right on the street. Not to mention the best gelato right next door. Incredible drinks on the roof top terrace which was a bonus to have. Staff was amazing, food incredible, can’t recommend it enough!

Very pleasantly surprised.

Fantastic stay! Room is HUGE with an ensuite fit for a king. Has a soaker tub, a large shower and mood lighting. Lots of towels and robes were provided which was a nice surprise. A complimentary bar fridge with beer/coke zero/water which is refilled each day was also unexpected. If this wasn’t our first time in Munich I would’ve spent a lot more time in our room. A balcony if you want to get some fresh air is accessible too. Staff were friendly and helpful. The area is safe and close to main food areas and attractions. The only negatives are parking is a bit further away although you get a discount on the daily rate as a customer of the hotel, and there a half a flight of stairs from the elevator to the even numbered floors which can be difficult if you have large baggage to drag around. Love the hotel and would return here in a heartbeat.

Excellent stay (as have stayed here multiple times in the past), but I would recommend making sure to get a room on the main building, as opposed to across the street—where I stayed this visit. Overall nicer rooms in the main building, in my opinion, and more convenient as well. But definitely like this hotel and will stay again for sure.

Had a lovely 2-night stay. Great location. Staff was very nice and helpful. Sharing some detailed specifics below. Had a "VIP" room, but not sure what comes with that vs. non-VIP. Your experience may vary. * Quiet little street. Very easy access to the market, Marianplatz and the train * Got a VIP voucher for a German plate at the restaurant. It was very good. * Restaurant was nice. Very busy, including locals it seemed. * Room fridge had a beer, water, soda, and one other bottle. They were replenished every day. VIP thing? * My room was small, but very nice. I am 6'3" (195.5cm) and I was worried about the small bed. It fit perfectly fine. * Room was DARK with great shades. Woke up first morning and thought it was still night. * Hot shower with strong pressure * AC worked great. * Only popped into the rooftop bar for a bit, but it looked very fun. Less the beer crowd that is so fun at various places, and more of a younger set who were dressed well, drinking wine, etc.

This was a wonderful hotel. The bed was comfortable and our room had a little terrace with a table and chairs. The bathroom had face cloths and lotion, in addition to the normal shampoo. There was a free minibar with water, beer and soda. We were also given a free Prosecco on the rooftop terrace and a sausage and cheese platter in the restaurant, which was enough for a meal. Plus, we had a really nice waiter. I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband, daughter and I recently spent 3 weeks traveling through Germany, Austria, and Hungary and our stay at the Hotel Deutche Eiche was a highlight of the trip. The staff was professional and friendly, the apartment was clean, stylish, spacious and well equipped, and the location was fabulous! We were able to walk to the town hall and marketplace in 5-8 minutes, easily access the U bahn, and the rooftop bar gave us beautiful views of the Bavarian Alps on our last evening. There was a street festival going on the day we arrived, yet it was quiet in the apartment, and the air conditioning kept the entire apartment comfortable despite the heat wave. The complementary items in the mini bar were a very nice touch (water, soda, beer); it’s so welcoming to have a few beverage choices immediately upon arrival, and it was restocked daily. I love supporting small and LGBTQ friendly businesses, especially when everything about our stay exceeded expectations. 100% recommend!!!

If you want to visit Munich, this hotel is located in the right place and my family and I would definitely would stay here again. Checking in with Expedia was the simplest ever. The staff was the greatest! Enjoy the roof top bar and the side walk restaurant.

This place was great! VERY clean and VERY helpful/friendly staff. The beds were super comfortable and the room was restocked/refreshed everyday. I traveled with my husband and son. We enjoyed the breakfast 2xs while there- it was better than other places we ate. The customer service at the restaurant is iffy depending on the person there. Very close to the farmers market and Marianplatz. Room was a touch tiny- for 3ppl- but it was comfortable. Only complaint: The sliding glass bathroom door is a terrible idea-you can hear/see everything. We would definitely come back!!!

It’s a great hotel in a fantastic area. It’s actually home of what turned out to be a famous male gay sauna. As I say a superb hotel, staff and location, but maybe Expedia should mention the vibe of the place in their description…

What a superb hotel! Everything was wonderful from the friendly welcome to the free drinks and minibar (and charcuterie board and breakfast!) and gorgeous room. I booked the junior suite for my aunt and me and I was honestly in interiors heaven. Beautiful polished wood floor, amazingly comfortable bed, fabrics by Morris & Co and utterly divine bathroom. The apartment over the road was perfect for the other two members of our group. We enjoyed learning about the Deutsche Eiche’s fascinating back story and we very much appreciated their ethos of inclusivity for all. LGBT+ friendly is understating the Eiche’s iconic gay history - a favourite of Freddie Mercury’s - and expansive sauna (the only part not accessible to us four straight ladies…!) We loved the open, welcoming vibe and wished we could have stayed longer. I wouldn’t book anywhere else for a return visit. Highly recommended!

What a find! Absolutely loved this hotel. Gorgeous room, fab staff, interesting history, great location and lovely inclusive ethos: LGBT+ friendly - and very welcoming to all including us four straight ladies! Stayed in the junior suite which was beautifully designed with wooden floor, super-comfy bed, antiques and Morris & Co fabric. Loved the freestanding bath and free minibar. The other 2 in our group stayed in the apartment over the road - spacious, comfortable and with a great story! Lovely restaurant and rooftop bar. Highly recommended.
