The cabin itself is unique, well-maintained, and we had a good time overall. However, there are a few things future guests should know.The owners run a tight ship with house rules and cleaning expectations. We emptied the dishwasher, took out all garbage, thoroughly cleaned the grill, swept the floors, and left the cabin in great condition. Despite that, we were charged a 50 cleaning fee because they claimed there was dog feces on a blanket. We strongly disagree, it was a dirt marking from one of my nephews, and the blanket would have been washed anyway. Not difficult or extensive to spray stain remover on something already going in the wash. The charge felt unreasonable. We also had an uncomfortable interaction with the neighbor regarding our dogs. Our dogs stayed close to the cabin but were not leashed. After the neighbor complained, we immediately kept them leashed, but the owner sent us a strongly worded text that made us feel more monitored than welcomed. And stated the neighbor was worried about his dog injuring ours and should not have to be. It made it difficult to fully relax and enjoy our stay. The neighbor also did not appear friendly and had many unfinished projects in his yard. Also, be aware that access to the lake is by a lift/elevator due to the steep hill, which wasn’t clear to us before arrival.Overall, the cabin is nice, but the strict rules, neighbor interaction, and disputed cleaning charge left us disappointed.
