Unobstructed view of the gorgeous Exuma seas. Attention to detail and guest comfort is evident throughout. There is really nothing more that one could ask for in an island stay. Our family loved everything about this beautiful home - the location, the elegant decor, comfortable beds in a floor plan conducive to families or friend groups, the well stocked kitchen and beach toys and equipment, the kindness and helpful suggestions and hospitality of the owners and managers - all show a degree of care, perceptiveness and professionalism that go above and beyond. Thank you to the owners for a wonderful week spent relaxing and making priceless memories with family.

The Starfish offers everything you could want with a beach out the back door! Two sinks, two dishwasher, two washer/dryers, and two refrigerator/freezers! Very well stocked kitchen (we cooked several meals) with pots, pans, silverware, kitchen utensils, and a great spice drawer! Also, all the beach and snorkeling gear you need. Golf clubs, too! See pictures. Beaches were great. Only three or four couples/families at the beaches we went to. Found sand dollars (don't take the brown ones as they are still alive), saw starfish, snorkeling was very good, fed the stingrays at Chat-N-Chill, and saw dolphins on our boat tour. Gavin cooked a great meal the last night of our stay. All in all perfect!

Wonderful beautiful house!

We really enjoyed our weeklong stay at Starfish House! It’s a beautiful house with lots of room for the 4 couples who stayed. We cooked dinners several of the nights and the kitchen had all the things we needed! We loved having coffee on the porch each morning, the beach was beautiful and just steps off the porch! Highly recommend this house, owner and manager of the house were very responsive. Beds were comfortable. Overall a great house in a great location.

Lovely location and stat

Wonderfully stocked kitchen. Great for 4 couples who enjoy making good food. The grill needs a lot of work. We ended up not being able to use it because of the rusted out bottom.

Beautiful home on the BEST beach!

This beach house is very well equipped and we appreciated having things like spices, games, floats, etc. and we were sure to leave some items for future guests to share. Tar Bay is the best place to stay on the island, in our opinion!

Family trip for Christmas

We were a group of two families with five boys ages 18-22. We remarked several times how perfectly Strafish House accommodated us. It is a perfect set up and layout for two families! The house was extremely clean and well-stocked. We loved the double refrigerators, dishwashers and washers/dryers. The kitchen had everything we needed and more! We had plenty of bath and beach towels. The view from the house and on the patio is stunning. We watched the sunrise almost every morning. Tar Bay is a nice long beach for walks and is a great central location for exploring to both ends of the island. Our boys had fun with the provided kayaks & paddleboards. The garage is full of all kinds of beach equipment to use. The only thing we missed would be beach chairs to take along when visiting other beaches but we mostly walked/explored the other beaches and didn’t sit much anyway. Esther the property manager was easy to communicate with pre-arrival. She connected us with a service to pre-stock groceries and alcohol for us which was great after a long travel day on Christmas Eve! She was off island for the holidays, but her assistant Angel met us at check in and touch base with us during the week. We had no issues or needs arise though. We loved our stay and Starfish House and would definitely recommend it to others!

Exactly what I needed

Every year my family takes a Christmas vacation in lieu of gifts. The last few years have been difficult due to my Mom being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and now on hospice. I spoke with Jim about having a back up plan in case the unimaginable happened leading up to our stay. He did not hesitate to work with us on extending the payment “due by” date and he even said if we couldn’t make it that he would allow us to have a credit for later use. He even blocked off dates for next summer just in case we had to cancel. Thankfully we were able to make it and the house did not disappoint. When we arrived we were in awe of how beautiful it was. Pictures do not give it justice. The beach is stunning. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. They had starter garbage bags, laundry detergent, and toilet paper. The only thing they didn’t have was a starter bar of soap and shampoo. But trust me, what the star fish house has is way more than anything you could hope for. The two washers and dryers, 2 refrigerators, the garage full of sand toys, floats, life vests, coolers, board games, books, sun hats, sunscreen etc. Ester greeted us and gave us a quick brief of everything too. The beach was too wavy for us to swim (due to wind) but was a perfect backdrop for a gender reveal of my first grandbaby (BOY), and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Don’t let this gem pass you by! Book it! You will not be disappointed!

Perfect place to stay!

The Starfish house was perfect! Plenty of space for our family. The whole house was fully stocked with any appliance or tool you may need in the kitchen as well as plenty of books, games and water toys to use. The house is centrally located between little Exuma and the top of big Exuma if you decide to take a boat tour that leaves from up there. We even asked for a sand chair to use at Tropic of Cancer and Ester arranged to have one there for my mom when we arrived. Everyone and everything associated with the Starfish House is top notch!

Perfect Spot on Tar Bay

Starfish House was perfect for our family of 11. Such a nice home with everything you can think of to make your vacation the absolute best! Esther, the property manager was so attentive and made sure any issue that arose was taken care of immediately. The location is so convenient to Georgetown and the airport. Oh, and did I mention the view? That beautiful blue water and beach right outside your door! We will definitely choose Starfish House when we return to Exuma!!!

We had group of 8 and couldn’t have picked a better home than Starfish House . Perfect location and house was setup so everyone had privacy plus great space to be together. Ester and team were very helpful and available we were amazed at that garage had every watet toy or beach necessity could ask for Double appliances were so useful. It was hard to leave the gorgeous house/beach to explore but exuma friendliest and most beautiful island i could ever imagine. Our group will always cherish our week at Starfish!

Retreat and relax in this beautiful oasis of peace.

Beautifully designed and located directly on the beach. Handicap accessible. Too many amenities to list - everything we needed was there and the Property Manager, Esther Butler, was a delightful person and always responded within minutes, but we didn't need much, Starfish House has it all!

beautiful home in tropical paradise

This home is directly on a white sand beach with crystal clear aqua water. The view from the living room was directly of the ocean. It took our breath away every time we walked in. The home itself was thoughtfully appointed with an open concept, high quality double appliances and sleeping quarters with en suite bathrooms. The set up was perfect for our large family with teen and young adult children. Communication with the owners was excellent, and with the on site property manager it was overall good. Unfortunately, several maintenance issues plagued our stay. Both air conditioning units for the main living area were not functional. The bedrooms were air conditioned but the kitchen, dining and living area were not. When we arrived, 2 large fans were cooling the area, and the manager later brought a 3rd. The room was 75-80 throughout our stay which was tolerable but it was humid and the fans were loud and blowing wherever we sat. We were not notified before we arrived. It was very humid in the main part of the house and the 2 main floor bedrooms smelled very musty. I found a mildew stain on my bed pillow and on a basket liner in the closet of our bedroom. We were provided with 2 high quality ocean kayaks that we enjoyed but the advertised SUPs were broken and couldn't be used. One of the two dishwashers did not drain and couldn't be used. The bathtub drain did not drain but the manager unclogged it. There were power outages almost every day, usually multiple times.

Another fabulous say at the Star Fish Home!

This is our second stay at the Star Fish Property, and I think we will keep bringing our friends and family to stay here year after year. The home has everything you need! Plenty of space to spread out. Very family-friendly and well stocked from cookware to outside activities like kayaks and paddleboards. The beach right outside in your backyard is so beautiful! We hardly ever see any other people around. Thanks for another wonderful stay. We will be back!

Wonderful House & Location

We had a group of 12 over a week long stay. The photo's don't do the setting justice, it really is a wonderful beachfront view. The house fit all of us really well, including the use of the bunkie. On the subject of the bunkie.....this is the one complaint I have. We paid an additional nightly fee to rent out this space & came to discover on arrival that the space is not 100% finished. The countertops in the kitchenette and bathrooms were just plywood (splintery at that). This was not shown in the photos on the listing - it was a bit embarrassing to invite a couple to join our group, show up and have them staying in an unfinished space. I feel this should've been made apparent when we booked it. Aside from that, the house is equipped with everything you might need, including beach toys & water sports equipment. We had a lot of fun hanging out on what felt like our private beach! Grocery shopping in town was a bit of an adventure, never knowing what will be stocked up (we did visit over spring break/Easter which seemed to exasperate this issue). The sand flies are viscous, so come prepared with a lot of bug spray! Overall we had a wonderful, relaxing stay at this house!
