The property is an older hotel. The room was clean but the bathroom area definitely needs updated. The bathroom was musty smelling, shower wall had some mold on it (mostly around caulking) and room was very very small. Kept the ceiling fan on all the time to help with the smell (I'm allergic to mold). The bathroom sink was outside in the main area which made traveling with grandchildren difficult to change clothing and getting cleaned up. The beds were comfortable. Access to the beach was great. View was so so.... marina parking directly in front, mobile homes off to the right (we were in room 201). Cost of room was okay.

The front desk lady was AWESOME. That is where the good stuff ended. We couldn't get the room door open and once we got inside, the door wouldn't close tight. The room was not clean. The bathroom was really yucky. The bedding looked nice, but we didn't dare sit on the beds since the bathroom was so gross. We were in the room for about an hour while we booked someplace else and in that time the sink still hadn't drained from washing my hands. The inside of the door and the walls were dirty. We ended up not staying there. If only the room had been as nice as the desk staff.

Our room was comfortable, clean and stocked daily with towels and toiletries. Top floor balcony had a decent view of the ocean.

First night was very noisy all night people were out side yelling and partying. It lasted until 4 am. We did not get any sleep at all that night. Next night was a little better. We are very disappointed.

The staff were awesome. The hotel has suffered damage from recent hurricanes and that is obvious, but they have worked to rebuild and do repairs. The location to the fishing pier is perfect. The walls are paper thin. The first night we were woken up by the smell of cigarette smoke from people smoking outside two doors down, as though they were in the room with us. It’s the same with conversations people have outside. The floors were dirty, but the sheets were clean. It was within walking distance of where we needed to go. The “trailer park” that many have commented about is standard for the area, and poses no threat. It would be better to use the Bogue Inlet entrance than Fairview Drive.

The TV worked.

Pros: location is great.
Cons: Needs some attention to detail.
Location: The pier is right there and the beach.
reviews were better than my experience with this place. wifi not working, but will be fixed next week? bathroom was in horrible shape, mold, loose fixtures, holes in the wall, dirty paint: stuff that just says I'm too lazy to fix any of this. So, just okay, but the TV worked.
