Follow-up to hairy sheets

Cons: The management is clearly indifferent to the comments or satifsfaction of the guests.
This is a follow-up to my post regarding the dirty sheets in our room. I had been told that the manager was aware of the situation and would contact me, but several days later, when I hadn't heard from him, I called back. The receptionist told me I was getting a 10% refund, and that the manager wouldn't talk to me because he "had other things to deal with." I attempted to contact him on a few more occasions, but the manager would not take the time to talk with me.

Hairy sheets and unresponsive staff

I would not recommend this hotel at all. When I pulled back the bedspreads to get into bed, I discovered that the sheets were covered in what appeared to be back or chest hair. Covered. I called the front desk, but they seemed to doubt that I was even telling the truth. (I took video and pictures.) I was told that I could come down to the front desk to collect new sheets so that I could remake the bed myself, which is what we needed to do. The only other option was to change rooms, but all three kids were asleep at the time. The next morning at checkout I was told that the management was aware of the situation and would be contacting me later that day. It is two days later and I have not heard back from anyone.

Convenient

Pros: location
Cons: overall upgrade including the aircon. Please give the cleaning staff adequate time to do a better job cleaning.
The location was convenient for us. The room aircon system is very noisy! We always bring our Roomba on road trips and it picked up a lot of dirt, dust, hair indicating the staff is not cleaning very well. Looks like it could use and overall upgrade.

Pros: Staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was a nice size and affordable. Parking was very close to the room. Room was quiet.
Cons: The bed was a little too hard and the TV volume was difficult to set.
Location: Only stayed the night.
Stayed one night after leaving San Jose and traveling to Bakersfield. The motel was hard to find at night, but the staff was great, the room was clean and I would stay there again. Compared to the prices of motels in San Jose, it was very affordable - worth driving a little longer or stopping a little sooner depending on the direction one is traveling.

Loved the cookies at the arrival desk!

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
Large clean room, great for the price. Even a small table where we had a bite to eat.

Good value for the $

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, cheap!
Cons: Noisy, a little run down
We got an amazing rate on this hotel, therefor I was excpecting it to be pretty shabby and run down. The rooms were a pretty decent size, clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was pleasent. The building was obviously really old, the walls were unfortunately paper thin, but it seemed really well maintaned. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a steal in the peninsula area. Just a side note for people traveling with young children...They charge $12 a night for a portable crib (pack-n-play) so plan ahead.

okay place. good breakfast. terrible pillows

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, nice people
Cons: bad pillows
we would drive the 45 minutes into Monterey each day because we got this place at a good price. the place was okay and the breakfast was good. next to a noisy highway and the pillows were bad. i would spend an extra $20/night next time to be closer to Monterey and with better pillows.

Excellent stay in a very clean hotel

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet, very clean
I stayed at the Laurel Inn in Salinas, CA for six days. I had not stayed in this hotel before, had never seen it personally and only went off of the reviews and pictures to make my choice. I have to say that it was the most pleasant experience that I have ever had staying in Salinas for MotoGP. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and courteous. I look forward to staying there again next year and for years to come.
